I feel you man, smoked a big 5 point in Ohio last year with only a couple days left to my trip worried about limited time and warm weather coming up, only to have a nice 8 come within 20 yards of me the next evening while hunting doe! Bummer!

What is your thoughts on the best time to be in Ohio to see the most buck activity? I have learned a lot from watching you and I put that knowledge to the test this year in Ohio on public ground out of 8 days I was successful enough to see amazing bucks here and there but I went the week of 11/10-11-19 2023 the action wasn’t hot felt more like a post-rut if anything

The last week of October is my favorite but you won’t see much chasing. It’s more pre rut and the bucks aren’t running wild yet but I feel like they are easier to pattern and that is when they are hammering scrapes. The time frame you went is probably the best for bigger mature deer, I have great luck during that time. You won’t see as much action but your chance at a big buck is higher I believe. It’s honestly hard to say because the rut can be so hit or miss. You’re either in the action or there’s NOTHING lol.

Packing the meat out vs dragging or carting a deer out. I haven't done a pack the meat out hunt yet. At what point or distance do you determine which to do? Or is it just easier to pack the meat out once you get used to doing it that way? Thanks and nice job!
