I've replaced a fair bit of HDMI and other connectors from several devices. If I can give you some tips: use aluminium or kapton tape to cover the surrounding components if you are new to the game. This will effectively shield the other components or close connectors from overheating and help you direct the heat towards the faulty component. Low melt solder is not needed really, just have good (lead) solder and add this. Don't overheat your components so you don't damage plastics, but use sufficiant heat to get the solder melding without spending too much time doing it. Take some other broken boards to practice desoldering, you will be amazed how fast you will master this. You have all the right gear to do so, just put in some hours of practice.
@ztechrepairs9 ай бұрын
I charge 105 bucks for these. It takes some time to master them. But once you do enough of them you'll be able to disassemble them replace that HDMI port and reassemble them in no time. Takes me a little bit under an hour to do each one.

Multimeter is your best briend, probably the HDMI IC Chip got shorted also, or the filters are blow up. Maybe a small soldering iron like a C210 or T30 would make it easy also. But for a beginner job that was pretty clean, everyone starts like that, spending over 10 hours on one device that didnt even got fixed, but the experience comes quickly.

It isn’t working because you ran the jumper wire in a spot where little continuity can flow, if you scratch off the circle at the end of the trace and run the jumper from there directly to the pin it should work. Another thing is get bigger jumper wire. Try .1mm instead of .01mm

I just managed to repair one of these HDMI ports the other day, it was my first successful soldering job! The plastic part of the HDMI had been pushed in, and the pins had been cleanly sheared off. Luckily it had no ripped pads. I have a hot air gun and soldering pen (that i can't put tin on, it just won't stick to the tip). And the repair went pretty well. I also had to resolder the little capacitor next to the port, it's so close and it's tiny. I don't have a microscope, so this is pretty much the limit in terms of scale, any smaller and it gets hard to see what I'm doing.
