8:21 welcome to the wonky world of the "sweet spot" mechanic. Weapons like halberds, spears and even some greatswords do different amounts of damage depending on what part of the weapon makes contact with the enemy. For ultra greatswords, it's right about dead center of the blade. For halberds and spears is the end of the weapon, with the shaft section doing practically nothing in comparison.

6:19 if youre not full, start healing as soon as he starts flying so you heal back whatever youre about to lose. At least enough to survive the second tick. It sucks but its pretty much guaranteed damage so you have to mitigate it rather than try to avoid it

I wonder if there is time to run off the platform if I spring as soon as he takes off! If not I will definitely be trying the method you mentioned. But first I want to make some more progress in the game, then I'll come back

@@cavemancam4545 believe it or not, the flames don't actually cover the whole platform he sits on, so running back towards the little bridge is a solid idea if you're fast enough, just make sure you don't get hit while sprinting, or else it'll count as a "counterattack" and you'll take extra damage

I don’t care what anyone says, dark souls 2 is the worst by a long shot. I constantly felt like I was being punished for something I didn’t do. You spend forever trying to get past badly placed, overpowered enemies expecting a bonfire or something but often are met with “now what?” It’s a slog.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Though lots of people still love the game and will even return to the online servers February 26th for the annual Return to Drangleic community event.

I'm oddly getting used to it (at least for now) - although this is the first actual Dark Souls I've played, the only other From Soft games I've played being Elden Ring and Armoured Core VI. But I am determined to beat this thing!!

@ hats off for your perseverance!it’s the only one I gave up on. DS2 was the last fromsoft game I played (before Elden ring) so it may be a fatigue thing but it really felt like a poor imitation of DS1 and didn’t manage to capture the magic that game had. I’m jealous you still have DS1,3 and Bloodborne to play. They are masterpieces.

I am very excited for the remaining Souls games I haven't played, perhaps starting with 2 will give me a bit of a unique stance on 1 & 3! I can't wait to play them, very torn on if I dare play Demon Souls at some point though haha! But thank you very much for your comments and for watching my silly video! 😁

@cavemancam4545 I highly recommend coming back for the event when the time comes! Random coop and pvp make for a whole different experience. For two weeks, starting on February 26th, everyone buys the name engraved ring from the cat and sets it to Kremmel, God of struggle, and summons anyone they come across. I wish you luck on this current run, and am excited to watch your slow march of progress
