If the seller would have included the other bed, that would have made the deal even for a little more money. In Virginia ALL trucks and parts are (stupid)expensive, a similar truck to what you looked at would be $8-10K all day long and a clean high mileage example $20-30K. congrats on the frame score, you have a good start for another project. on the orange truck, is the oil cooler in the radiator? even a new radiator, check that first.

I would be curious if the insurance totaled it ? Which explains wanting to sell it vice repair it.. so the title is a question... The free frame, good consolation prize lol... Drop a 62 Dually body on it... get a rear-end. What year is the frame ? Duramax and manual transmission... 4wd... RAT ROD... 😎👍 bag it, so when laid out, she is in the weeds... cruising in 2wd.. snow comes 4wd...

@TruckMaster Check out these two builders. Corey Wheat Customs and Hardcorps Fab...both have KZbin channels. Look at the builds they are and have done. Buy building a RAT ROD and using a older body style. Plus the newer frame. You are saving money and you are getting a cool custom truck. Go to a salvage yard and sort and pick a body . Then fit it to the frame. Check out their builds you will be hooked. You might even then consider going back for the dually 😮. A bagged, dropped, dually RAT ROD 67 stepside... with a Duramax.... next to a early 60's bagged, dropped 4wd..... and a Duramax. No paint job..patina is cool, it's a RAT ROD. Stock motor, sourced air bags, 4 link rear suspension, ... You can build both for less than the Sunkist truck. [And the WIFEMAX]. Search for a 57 Apache body... fleetside or stepside..

I believe you have a busted oil cooler on drivers side of the block my friend. Only way i know that oil can get to the coolant tank. Dont think thats a head gasket problem judgein upon the biggest issues j ever had with my duramaxes was the oil cooler leaking or mixing coolant with oil. Or the headgasket being bad causing pressure in the upper radiator hose but never running hot or chocolate milk oil or sludgy coolant. I believe its oil cooler replacement time buddy. Unfortunately not just a gasket kit this time. Oil cooler not a bad job tho especially with your knowledge and the rack in ur garage.
