I took a 2X6 board, drilled holes in it 3" apart, and stuck 9 Seed Consultants rain gauges in it. Then pour the fertilizer out of the test pans in the rain gauges to see how even the spread is.

I was at a mill loading up wood chips when the truck ahead of me had not closed his rear gate. As the chips loaded in the trailer they just came out the back. Then had to get a big loader to clean up the mess plus putting me behind. But then it happens!

Hello. I think you should look into how you do a pan-test for your spreader. I don‘t know how yours works, but all the fertilizer spreaders I know rely on overlap from two passes next to each other for even spreading. Which makes sense because the fert doesn‘t fly only 40ft to the right and 40ft to the left.

Instead of keeping the Oxbow, buy an auction tractor and another Pro-Force and the tractor will be used on the farm ! Oxbow is a specialty machine as is the Pro-Force. Money wise, I like my idea ! How about you ?

Don't under estimate the benefits of comfort. The farm I worked on has just been leased out. The farmer simply can't stay on a tractor any more. Ruined the cushioning in his neck from being chucked around in tractors and sprayers for 40 years. He is now on a workers comp scheme. In NZ we have compo system for accidental injury of any type. Tractor driving, skiing or walking into a pole drunk. But no sueing anyone or a company. That was the deal.
