OH my first speedpaint in... oh god... I don't even want to think about it haha! and of course I HAD to paint the Goddess of Rot!
Sorry for the zoom-in parts being blurry. I thought I'd try CSP's recording feature and only realized in editing that it doesn't work for close ups, but nonetheless it's the only footage I got, oops!
With me coming back to youtube more casually, I've been having fun dick'n around with the video edits. I thought it would be fun to kinda show me taking a step or so with prepping to paint, which would be to get References!!! They are essential to know what the heck you're painting/drawing, otherwise you are doing a 'draw from memory challenge', and despite taking some artistic freedoms such as merging stage 1 and 2, or relaxing on the rot on her exposed arm, I wanna know what I'm drawing haha. And in this case, I went and got my own references from the game as google failed me for Caelid lol.
Plus, I thought the intro kinda matched the spirit of the Chaos Elden Ring video I posted last week haha! I want to have more fun showing my personality in my videos instead of before where there was this flat phase into the timelapse video. and I think yall will figure out really quickly that I'm a very dorky goober that embraces the cringe of a goblin haha. which I hope is fun haha. And I thought a fun name for the speedpaint series I'm gonna continue could be called "Imma Paint 'blank character' "
Also I got a little dude!!! how cute! She will come very much in handy for some future video ideas I got planned which are a bit more tutorial-like in nature.
This is my first painting since my 3-4 year long burn out. I'm definitely not painting up to the speed I once was, but I had a blast painting this. It was very fun and amazing and I think it might be one of my best! especially for semi-realism instead of the cartoons I'm more known for. (Study fundies and you can do both 😉) I ton of thought went into this painting, and I hope it shows! :D
I know like 95-99%% of my subs are gone despite the number still on my channel, but for those that stuck around, thanks for not forgetting about me. Sorry I was away for so long. you guys are the real ones. And for anyone that's new that stumbles across my videos, welcome to the Legion! I'll probably post once every week or two, give or take, and I hope you guys like my new content, it will be a little different than the past. which I feel is refreshing. a bit of a reboot, if you will. 💙

I have not played or watched people play Elden Ring but I HAVE seen a lot of the Dark Souls games and I love the aesthetic of them. They're so dark and haunting but beautiful. I think you captured that really well with the painting

REALLY BACK! because there had been so many times I've "tried" to come back and just was too burned out to be able to uphold it for more than a month. But I feel so refreshed and excited. And my channel does too. with the majority of my subs inactive and my views and comments low- it actually feels great! I think some people would be surprised at this but there's a really special place and connection you can have with interactive followers that you lose when you grow a certain size on social media. Then everything blurs together and a lot of people start making it about views because they lose that connection of creator to viewer. which is very sad. And usually once you hit a size like that- the wonderful and magical parts of being a smaller creator goes away. :C I missed it a lot. And I think starting fresh and new and small again feels fantastic and I think it's what I needed. So the 3-4 year break was a blessing in disguise I think haha! 😄😄😄 Thanks for being here! seriously! I hope you continue with your art! it's ok to take breaks like me haha it never leaves. 💙💙 (also sorry for the dashes/run-on sentences lol-- my comma key broke lol)

aww 😭😭💙💙 That's so cool that you even had the thought to look back to my old videos at all! I'm glad it so happened to line up with me returning to youtube! I'm kind of starting over so what you said about seeing me really means a lot. I know I lost the algorithm and reach I once had and the number for my subs is completely out of wack as not even 1% of subscribers are active. and that doesn't bother me at all!😁Infact it feels kinda nice.😌😌Like a fresh start. New! Being a small creator again. It's a special place to be honestly I think a lot of people miss out on it or are too distracted with bigger numbers to have a connection you do with your followers when you are small. Which is sad. subscribers feel more within reach and personal. Where before there was so many comments/views it really blurred everything together and I wasn't able to see even a percentage of them. :C So this is nice. :D I think I needed to have the fresh start. Once you get a certain size on social media- A lot of content creators don't realize how great it was when they were smaller and it often will never happen again as they get bigger and bigger. So I'm glad I get to experience this special window of being a smaller creator again. I thought once it ended it would be gone forever. So haha. I guess the 3-4 year hiatus was a blessing in disguise for a lot of ways. 💙💙 I'm glad you see me. I see you too. Thanks for stricken around and thinking of me despite how long I've been gone.
