I gotta say there were a lot of songs that formed my teenage years during the 90's and this was one of them. I associate this song a lot with King of the Hill as they both air around the same time frame where I grew up....Nashville to be exact. 103.3. WKDF had the best rock station. The Top 9 @9:09 was something to be around for every week night. As much as I love being able to look up any song I want on a whim, I truly miss having to sit by the radio to listen to a song that I loved. When it came on it meant so much more to me than it does now as I can wear that song into the ground if I want. CDs were expensive and cassettes just weren't the same. If you didn't grow up during that time you wouldn't understand. I think that's why this music hits so hard for me.

Any Pulse Ultra fans? They were a hard rock band from Montreal that formed around 2003 that named their only album “Headspace” after this song. It was an outstanding album. The guitarist from that group went on to form a prog rock group called “The Chronicles of Israfel” who have released two absolutely stellar albums. No pun intended since they have sci-fi themes.

My first live concert was seeing I Mother Earth when they toured for this album. Crazy experience. I was only 9 or 10. My first live concert and it was made even better when my younger brother started hitting on the cute, gothy female bartender and then meeting Edwin and talking to him for about an hour. It was an almost forgotten moment in my long life, but it changed so much of who I am that I will probably never not dwell in the memory every so often.

Just now discovered this band because I decided to see who the singer was for Alex Lifesons solo project 'Victor'. Glad to have found IME

@whyisdiscostevetaken - I don't know that I would call it chanting. It's more like a harmony. The right channel (secondary harmony) sounds to me like: "One more hit, one more shot, then we reach - wandering on the night, I never miss, I never miss, (wondering why he's here at all) While at the same time, the left channel (predominant) is singing the published lyric: " One more astronaut in endless old universe with one more second chance at wondering why he's here at all"

somehow when I listen to this album I am taken back to early early morning driving across Saskatchewan near Alberta, the sun coming up and listening to this was just so zen o>o

Ok shaggy! There is mystical aura to this song, no doubt about it. It seems to resonate with a lot of people so there must be something with that haunting guitar that causes the effect... Maybe you and I can relisten to this song together and jam out, for those cold morning drives?

I haven't referred to MTV as "empty-V" for nothing, but they were the first to expose me to Tori Amos, and this band here, and that's definitely something .
