Thanks for the update. 06:35 KITAS is about $100 / year. If anyone (agent) asks for more than this, it is most propably going to their pocket. They could claim it is to bribe someone, but it is a lie. Corruption laws are very strict and no payments are even allowed within immigration offices. All fees are paid directly to the gov account. This is why one should apply for all the paper work themselves provided they have a sponsor. All services and forms are free (except for duty stamps ~$1 required next to signatures). Other than the extra money, some agents hold their client's passport hostage up to six months. You can visit your local immigration office and ask about the renewal process towards the end of your visa. They should provide you with a written list of all required papers and where they can be obtained if you do not already have them. The renewal process itself usually takes less than a week, many times only 2 days. The immigration staff are usually friendly, from my experince in more than one province.
