My family recently moved closer to Long Island and I also work in public schools. My commute is 2 hours going and 2 hrs returning. I’ve been contemplating moving out but I don’t make that much money to live by myself and I am an introvert. My job allows me to chose schools nearby but for this school year I’ve agreed to work with a school in Manhattan. A part of me wishes to leave and the other part of me doesn’t because I’m living comfortable right now and if I move out I’ll have no money to have for myself.
