You’ll NEVER regret this new chapter. I moved to London alone when I was 27. Fantastic experience! I’m now 70 and I’m so happy I had adventures before getting married and having a couple kids!! Good for you!! 🇫🇷

18:23 dude, I’m 28, had a bunch of different careers within marketing and entertainment and moved to a few different countries. It doesn’t get easier but truly the highs of literally opening a window in the morning with a cup of coffee and remembering “dude, I got myself all the way to this moment” is so fulfilling. It’s almost as euphoric as childbirth. Keep up what you are doing but also remember that while you have set up a nice daily structure, you can also slow down. And European culture is the best teacher for that. Whatever is you favorite time of day, take two hours to be unproductive a few times a week and I promise those lonely feeling will go away and the euphoria of the adventure will take over. Sorry to lecture, I’ve just totally been in these shoes before and congratulate you for making the leap and keep pushing through.

I have to step in and give my thoughts. Good on you for doing something that you want to do, staying present to your positive and negative feelings. I don't think I'm alone in saying that my 20s was perhaps the hardest decade. The thoughts and feelings you share reflect the struggle many of us go through at your age. You are doing great (I wish I had taken your advice and just done some things I didn't but wanted to)! You are so wise. Onward and forward!

Love this video. The moment where you show “the night before” and you telling yourself “it’s okay” is the some of the most relatable content I’ve seen. Coming from a 29yo Aussie living in London figuring life out alone (for now). If you ever feel like a Eurostar vacay to London, you gotta a fellow independent gal pal in me. Keep crushing it. It will be okay. ❤

I stumbled on this video and found it so charming. I lived in Madrid when i was 28 and went to a language school for 4 months and it was such an amazing experience. If you can make an experience like this happen it’s such a gift. I am now 54 and trying to figure out how to spend summers with our family in Europe. When your a traveler/explorer in your heart in never ends. C’est la vie!

I used to dream of living alone in Paris now i dream of living with friends in a walkable city and making that romantic like Paris. Capitalism man!!! Don’t let the rugged individualism myths get you further down when navigating this very human loneliness. I’ve been watching you for so many years and I Always love the curious and beautiful way you see the world Elena ❤❤❤ you’re not alone in this wandering and it’s no coincidence that we’re all struggling with loneliness, we need each other, we’re only human 🥹 it’s so special to sit in this and feel it

Honestly… her videos gives me hope and peacefulness. Many people could have a different opinion and would maybe not understand why she does these videos, but personally trying to see deeper ans understanding what could be the message or the outcome she want us to get… I feel safe and gives me confidence to go out and try and get out your comfort zone no matter what could the outcome be. That’s life, experiencing having failures that helps us combing forward afterwards. Who knows you might not even get any failures and this might change your life… I just appreciate her content and the fact she shares it with us 🤍 Merci beaucoup, personnellement j’apprécie tes vidéos 🫶🏻

You have always been my favourite person on internet. Its always so inspiring to see you take risks, explore new places and take new challenges. This made a huge impact on me when I started watching your videos 3 years ago. It truly inspired me to move abroad and experience this life that I have always dreamed of. So I left my home last year in hopes of finding a better life and to understand myself better. It takes huge amount of courage for one to leave their life behind. Although there are days when I miss home terribly but I try not to forget why I chose this life in the first place :)💌

Those of us who are independent and adventurous-who go to new places on our own-always experience loneliness. When I was your age and I moved to New York alone- I put so much pressure on myself to be with someone. To not feel like the odd one out. I was so very tired of being alone. And throughout my life I have experienced this every time I took that leap. I moved to Montreal. I am moving to Amsterdam. We have these hard choices. Stay in our comfort zone and be surrounded by what we know or move out if our comfort zone and experience life. Half of our emotions come from the pressure we put in ourselves. Stay strong Girly. You are young and beautiful and smart and brave. You won’t regret this time-but the trade off will always be- the aloneness. Sending you hugs.

When I was 23 I went to Chambéry to see the Alps and stayed for a year. I met my wife a month after returning to the States. We just back from two weeks in France (Lyon, Chambéry, Paris) where we spent a few days with my old friends in Chambéry. It wasn't always easy, but it changed my outlook on the world and it changed my life. My kids have all studied abroad and visited France with us. Our friends have visited us in the various places we've lived in the U.S. (We also lived and worked in Northern China in the 1980s). And, two of our grandsons will be in a French summer camp in July. Living abroad, speaking another language, and experiencing other cultures opens the world to us and the people we love. Bravo!

I moved abroad at 30 and am now almost 37 and it was the best decision I ever made. I wish I had documented more of the beginning and explained the hardships I was going through because I think more people would understand what it takes to be an expat and not see my current life as all butterfly and rainbows; it takes true grit and not a faint heart. Even if just for a few months it’s one of the best things i think any human can do for themselves and opening their mind because living in a city is a universe entirely different than traveling to visit a city. If you decide to stay, just wait for the bureaucracy of it all 😅 Stay strong and enjoy! ❤

Hey Elena :) my name is Samia - haven't properly introduced myself to you, so thought I would. Just wanted to share my gratitude. You already seem like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders as you give yourself space and time and resilience building opportunities to be with yourself, the moment and your evolving self. Having had periods alone, I totally get dark evenings can be the hardest points of the day - the eery quiet too. Having a practice that helps you have calm (even shifting your sleep cycles over winter), can help, but also remember you aren't ever alone. And though we can build our capacity to be alone, remaining connected to what really matters to us can help keep us grounded. We dont do life alone, we can't. And yes new encounters with people can be energising or depleting - its not cringe at all to talk about - essentially we want to feel, experience and share love, so take it as it comes as you learn to trust your inner voice. Well done girl❤ Sending you love as you continue to make space for all of it xx

You are such an inspiration to me when it comes to moving abroad and trying new things! By the way, Grammarly is a great company to partner with. It's not only handy for clear and impactful writing, but it was also created by three Ukrainian guys in Kyiv 💙💛

I’ll never understand Elena - I like her content but I feel like all she does is just capitalise on the very normal feeling of having an existential crisis, makes a load of content saying she’s going to change things, but then ends up just going to Europe for like 2 months? Like I’m confused at the message behind this content as it honestly just feels privileged and confused

ikr I used to watch her college videos but now her life seems so unattainable. you’d have to have so much cash flow to live like that and most of the time if you grew up without a lot of money it’s almost impossible to climb that ladder unless you get lucky (not hate I think she’s a really sweet person)

Isn’t that basically every influencer we’ve ever seen, Emma chamberlain loads of money without even going to uni, Mai Pham renting an 8000 dollar apartment dropping out of school, now it’s better to be an influencer rather than going to college 😂

Yea she is so sweet but something there is weird.. you said it perfectly, like she’s always moving but she’s not calling it- traveling, which it really is, it’s always dramatic and like MOVING TO..!! something about it annoys me lol

This is very unfair to say so. She has worked very hard to achieve what she has and is making her dreams a reality by consistently showing up, working on herself, on her goals, and her relationships. And there’s nothing wrong in being honest and vulnerable about having a crisis in your 20s! Maybe Elena has more means to travel so much and have this flexibility (because she worked really hard for it and created these opportunities by action) compared to many others, but the main message from here is to inspire and show what you CAN do and strive for DESPITE feeling lost. And also that you aren’t alone in your feelings and that you should take risks in life. Don’t undermine her move abroad, maybe for you it seems easy and privileged but it’s actually very hard and scary. So even if you can’t afford moving to Paris, there are some other key takeaways - DONT BE SCARED TO MAKE A CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE (however big or small) as life goes by so fast, be brave and do random things to get a better understanding of what you want and to create more memories as much as it’s possible in YOUR situation. P.S. Elena you’re a true inspiration and I wish you all the best in your journey of self discovery 💕

@@yaaraisraeli2004but she is moving. Just because she realizes it doesn’t feel right to stay permanently after a few months doesn’t mean she didn’t go into it with the very real possibility of staying

It could be really hard to live solo in couple-oriented society. Your strategic mind gives you possibility to see many different options to compare. Maybe the benefits of solo life are stronger than being with somebody else??… When you see it in that way, your life (or destiny) will go that way.

Oh man I relate to this alot. I've wanted to start youtube for forever and am constantly too afraid to do it, constantly waiting to travel with other people out of fear of doing it solo for safety and just because its scary to be alone.
