Bro... my guy... the fact that the mother of your children supports you is amazing. Shout out to her for loving you and your kids in such a way to support you getting better and being the version of you, the you you seek to be for yourself and your children and her. This makes me smile. Love FTW. Happy for all four of you!! Cory - your level of assertion over your existence is solid AF. Keep on keepin' on!!

Omg, I am so looking forward to your Thailand videos! I went there for ten days on a whim, way back in the '90's, and just loved it. Every once in a while the thought creeps into my head, "I could just go live in Chang Mai." The people of Thailand are the best. One of my favorite memories is me standing on a corner of a busy street, trying to figure out how to cross the chaotic traffic without getting run over. As I stood there building up my courage, I felt a small hand slip into mine, and I looked to see a smiling little old lady. With a priceless grin on her face, she lead me safely across the street, through all the cars, scooters and tuk tuks, like it was nothing. Then bowed her head and returned back across the street. Not a word said. It still cracks me up that a little old lady had to help me cross a street, lol. I will never forget her.

That is such a lovely story. I also found the Thai people to be helpful and kind on the whole. I was in Chiang Mei in 2002 and loved it. I went on tours from there into the countryside and to the borders. I also went down south. Thailand was welcoming and beautiful.

I think this channel is still appropriate… a hiker doesn’t always need to be hiking. Heck, I bet most walks over there would be considered a day hike here. You may be done with long backpacking trips but I really doubt you are done with “hiking”. It just depends on how you define hiking. Good luck and best wishes…. I’ll still will be following (p.s. KZbin is the only ‘social media’ I use except maybe a little rumble/parlor).

I originally did this by selling everything I worked hard for. My beautiful dream house is gone, my vehicles are gone. I own a backpack now. I have multiple KZbin channels, also I invested wisely. It’s scary as heck to sell your house but I had proper motivation when doctor told me I was going to die. Before Thailand I slept in a garage floor for a 5 weeks at my exes house saving money. Wash clothes in sinks. My life style is not for everyone but in Thailand I live like a king.

Thank you so much for posting not only your successes, but some of your less wonderful moments. All the advice on gear for heavier folks so we can get out too has also been a god send…oooooh and the pooping outside too. You don’t think about it when your fit, but it is for sure a perishable skill when you get heavier :). Thank you so much ):
