Paul, I was there as well. Worked on the MAC ramp at RMS (where all the big planes were parked at that day). If you recall the access road that came from the tower area a few feet to the left of where you were sitting then I was at the end of that access road up against the concertina wire at the very front. The solo plane came through the crowd a little less than a hundred feet to my right. I can vouch for everything you described here. The stuff we saw that day was mind boggling and I hope to NEVER see, hear or smell anything like it again for as long as I live. Terrible, terrible day....
