yeah! I don't get people who want a perfect reproduction of the books, what's the fun in watching something that you know aboslutely everything that is going to happen? it's kinda pointless! I'm really looking forward to how this story will unfold

I have to say one of my absolute favourite moments in this episode overflowing with amazing moments is that amazing scream Nori lets out when the Stranger grabs her, it never fails to make me smile, Markella Kavenagh gave her everything to that scream.

The stranger Nori and Poppy are trying to help seems to me to most likely be Sauron. Fire without heat, like what happened to the torches due to evil magic in the fortress in Forodwaith. A Maiar described as a cruel and cunning sorcerer demonstrating similar powers to a Maiar wizard, but with a more deathly touch. He arrived in fire (or used trickery to make it seem that way) at the same time Gil-galad found the shadowy corruption on that leaf in Lindon. I suspect he recently acquired this new physical form, as Sauron and Gandalf have done at various points in the stories, perhaps to recover from some lingering damage Morgoth did to him, or perhaps to create a form enhanced by magic to be able to make adjustments to his appearance on the fly (to take on a fair form, one might say,) in order to more easily infiltrate and corrupt societies. He was likely expecting to have some time to recover alone in the wilderness but didn't account for the presence of the Harfoots - or he planned even that part, who knows - and now he wants to find whatever location his actual plan starts. Makes sense they'd have a language barrier too, as Sauron and the Harfoots have both been very reclusive up to this point, and when they have had outside contact they haven't exactly been in overlapping social circles.

I mean, if Celebrimbors plan with the tower really concludes with the forging of the rings, then Sauron would definitely have to be around that time. So the stranger could definitely be him (I would've imagined him to look a little bit more 'fair', but like you said, maybe we will get that later on). It would be really cool if the Harfoots were there coincidentally. Would be a nice parallel to LotR, where he/the Ring didn't expect the hobbits to intercept his plans as well :D

All that hate was building up for many months. All people do now - is to seeks how to justify it. Rant clickbait videos are getting more views because the snowball algorithm effect that started way before the premiere - so if you want to catch with the trend and get extra clicks - you better start hating now! On top of that the psychological effect is that people who have been on that hate train - knew that they just have to hate it - before they saw it even, so it is quite bitter taste to watch something you are obligated to hate. Meanwhile obviously the quality of the show is incredible, so the haters will continue watching it - although they are "hating it soooo much". I was on this hate train too, but then I actually saw it - so far the show is not bad at all, dare I say - good. Better than the Hobbit movies for me. I also see why this is not 1:1 Tolkien, but I don't mind if it is more based/inspired by - than truly 1:1. The overall critique doesn't make sense for me - the acting and the cast is quite good? The story so far is engaging? Yeah, nothing is perfect... but c'mon.

Hate will sadly always win when it comes to views/etc. These 2 RoP videos have become my most-downvoted videos ever in just 2 days since their uploads, probably most of them just because I enjoy the show. I honestly don't care and I don't mind these videos getting fewer clicks, if that means I get to enjoy a little bit more of middle-earth with some other nice people :) I'm glad to hear that you could find enjoyment in the show, despite having low expectations beforehand. It's definitely not perfect, you're right, but I don't think anything ever will be

Hello Miss Yumanara, I watched the third episode today & without giving anything away, I will say that I think it's the best episode of the season so far. My Mother & I have been watching loyally since the first episode & it's actually the first streaming show we are watching as it airs new episodes every week. It's become must-see TV for us. You have to give Amazon Studios & Amazon Prime credit for having the guts to make a billion-dollar TV show based on one of the most iconic fantasy epics of all time, especially when success is hardly a guarantee, but if you don't take risks once & awhile, what's the point? Sometimes, you have to go big or go home. And from what I've seen so far, it been worth all the money they've put into it. Everything is top notch from the acting, the writing, the directing, the sets, the costumes, the beautiful cinematography & the awesome visuals. Once again, kudos to Amazon Studios for daring to do something that other studios/ networks would have been afraid to do. Already looking forward to the fourth episode next week.

@@SidariYumanara That's the beauty of them "mining" a story from scratch. We don't know exactly when the dwarves discovered mithril in their mines, but it has to be before the rings being forged. I'm guessing we'll get most of the rings this season, but the One Ring isn't going to appear until later, since all the recipients have to get them before the double cross from Sauron. The Stranger is maybe the Man in the Moon being the only character who fell from the sky in the ancient folk tales, but he COULD be one of the Blues. Who knows, but it's interesting finding out ;)
