Hi Ricky. As a grandmother watching your channel, do you mind if I give some advice on the white bookshelf. Try to fasten it against the wall, once your girls start to crawl and try to walk, they pull themselves up against furniture and it could potentially wall on them and hurt them. We secured ours to the wall with some brackets when my grand daughters tried to climb them, it was quite scary. Keep up the good work.

We all need to live in the moment but also look to the future and plan because most of the time the future will come whether its 5 year, 10 years etc . But in your situation, there have been sudden changes so you are right to take it slow, go with the flow. You can reassess and decide accordingly as time passes.

Our son and my nieces went to the village school from three to six. It got them used to getting up in the morning, the school was close and they also had friends with them from the village. From six onwards they went to the school in out local town which was a much higher standard and they all progressed very well. The only issue I had that they had and still have to take a songthaew every day at six am and they get home at six pm which is a long day for young kids. I work overseas rotational and my wife works so we could not take them to school. I am so surprised by the kids though, they are up at five in the shower, breakfast and ready to go. They love school. Not like me I bloody hated it.

You can't bubble wrap them or yourself but I agree with others here. You DO need to cover every eventuality, even when you are no longer here. Make an appt with a good solicitor, esp if custody may involve international laws.

I think a lot of us are guilty of not living in the present, probably how we were raised, but it reminds me of a saying "man plans, God laughs" because we really never do know what's going to happen, I've often found that I thought I had a good plan and something beyond our control comes up and changes everything. I also agree you can't "bubble wrap" yourself, yes, you have to do your best to make sure you stay safe, but again, it's not all in our control, you have to keep living and enjoying your live, I ride bicycle too, but I try to do what I can by staying on routes with the least traffic, but you still don't know what will happen, you just have to control what you can and not worry to much about what you can't control.

I was riding my bicycle to the hardware store. A car hit me on the right side and I wobbled. Had I fell down to the left, the car in the next lane could have run me over. I enjoy my bike, but now I seldom ride it because of the danger. That was at 11:00 am. You love your daughters so much. By first grade, have them in a Catholic Parochial School in Australia for 8 years. Catholic high school if you can find one. You need to earn big money in Australia. The girls can apply to be medical doctors when older, if their grades are good, and their English will be fine. Thais get scholarships from the Thai government to pay for medical school. They must pay back about 7 years serving a rural poor community. You will eventually meet another lady. She could be a white lady in Australia or another Thai. Grandma can enjoy the babies until they are about 5 years old, then they have to go to Australia for English and schooling. They will come back to Thailand when they are older and grandma can enjoy their companionship again. I wish your wife had gone to the doctor when you did and got treated. Delaying for 72 hours turned out to be tragic.

I think the thing you possibly don't understand Emma, is I've been told from the get go that the twins must remain with grandma for her to raise. I essentially haven't been giving a choice. I was initially told when I moved houses that they don't even want me taking them for a few days a week, but I fought that. Even if it was bizarrely met with tears from grandmother who felt she was losing the twins. So because I have a heart and don't want to break grandmothers heart, I'm currently working on a compromise. I want my twins full-time. I miss them dearly everyday I don't see them. I'm not depending on anyone to raise my twins. It's the culture here in Thailand and the situation I'm unfortunately in. Grandmother has lost her only daughter and husband in the space of 4/5 months. Do I rip these twins away from her also?

I understand you want to be in control of thier schooling which is great. But, won't your little ones be going to a thai school? There will be a langauge barrier between you and the school system unless they go to an international school
