If you can use the pillar and rear quarter from the $1000 daily to fix the shell back up, then I say that's the better option and gives you opportunity for tons of content on a rust-free platform. Otherwise, I would part out both and use the proceeds to get another daily in better condition (foundation-wise) and go from there.

That’s the route I’m considering on doing. Or just swap the auto and just drive the $1k daily and not care about the body.

dont forget to pull as much as possible before removing the outer skin, will help a lot with fitting up new panels

@@BMSmouthers you'll probably have to use the Tiguan and a tree. Anchor the other side to the tiguan and hook the other b pillar to a tree with a sturdy come along. Massage the pillar with a hammer as you add pressure, you'll want to pull back at the same angle it was hit. Both the b pillar and the rear door striker look like they have a gnarly twist

Just do it,,It sounds like you’ve answered your own question,,rebuild that shell and make a good one out of the two 🤙🏼 keep the golf where it is cover it over put the shell next to it so you can work on it,and the rotten out parts car down the side,,then it’s game on

Sounds like a solid plan to be honest. I’m honestly considering going down that route. It’s going to be way more work, but at the end of the day, I’d have one clean/rust free $1k daily I’d be content with it.

Both cars are going to need a respray. Period. The car with the least amount of body work needed, I think is going to build on the already installed rust free roller. Wiring is a real pain in the arse. Imo. The florida is the way to go Bud. Don't feel shy. Reach out. We "MK4" all support ya.

They both seem like a waste of time to fix, I say just keep the auto gli and beat it to death If your wanting to just keep the one you do build I’d say the part car is a better fix as there’s no rust and just the one hit

I did exactly that. 6 speed swapped the auto, threw it all together for about $500 and been beating on it daily since!

No way. For less than $1k I can make one a solid daily. And that’s all it’ll be used for. Whole reason behind this is to build a daily for less than $1k to keep the miles off my lease.
