I would imagine cosmic Charlie pollen can cross pollinate dragon fruits it's not related to? I was in a position where all I had available was the pollen from Charlie and another that could not self pollinate and the pollen from each worked out.
@hayden7082 ай бұрын
Great video. When you get a chance, can you post a spreadsheet of varieties that can not be used to pollinate each other? Or maybe color code your self fertile/cross pollinate list? For example, purple haze, physical graphiti, delight, dark star, cosmic charlie would be all highlighted red which mean they are from the same orgin and their pollens can not be used for cross pollination. Thanks.

There might be one floating around in my facebook group somewhere. I don't have an official spread sheet. There's over 500 varieties

In your opinion, what line of dragon fruit is better. The asunta or the Paul Thompson? Kinda limited in space so I want to grow something that I know will be enjoyable for years.

All my paloras are clones of the one I grafted a long time ago. It shouldn't change fruit flavors compared to rooted ones.

Why does the white dragon fruit begin to turn red from the bottom of the fruit after successful pollination after two weeks and the inner pulp that eats from the fruit does not form?

After you pollinate the flower till harvesting time you still keep on fertilising the plant richard???
@GraftingDragonFruit2 ай бұрын
Yes, once I harvest all the fruits they will get fertilizer but it will be all purpose fertilizer or earth worm castings until spring comes again. That’s when I’ll switch back to blooming fertilizer. I use Dr earth brand.

Hi just have a quickquestion. I have been noticing that a lot of the websites that carry Dragonfruit plants and cuttings are all out of stock . Dont know if it has a problem in the industry rightnow. Can you shed some light on this please.
@GraftingDragonFruit2 ай бұрын
Dragonfruits grow very slow and only put out a certain amount of new growth each season. A lot of growers don’t like to over prune their plants to sell cuttings so it’s always pretty limited everytime a plant is ready to take cuttings. This is what the supply is always so low. Growers also like to keep their branches and not cut them for sale so they can get more fruit.

@@GraftingDragonFruit Hey Richard sorry I have a very important question, when making a v-taper cut how long do you let it dry before rooting it in water???

BRUH I just harvested my Cosmic Charlie a few days ago it was the most beautiful deep pink, definitely one of the most aesthetically pleasing dragonfruit flesh I've ever seen. It did taste like lemon and dirt though 😂
@GraftingDragonFruit2 ай бұрын
Ouch! Completely different experience lol. Was this your first year fruiting?
Dragonfruit is usually ready to harvest after 40-45 days. Some varieties can take longer but just make sure to check your fruit for signs of ready for harvest. Once the fruit turns red wait another 4-5 days for it to get plump and round. Also if it wiggles on the branch loosely it’s another sign it’s ready.
