I never catch this fish! Bass fishing with the cheap Ozark Trail combo has been a blast so far. I have caught largemouth bass, bluegill, yellow bass, and now a smallmouth bass! I have had more than $10 worth of fun with this cheap spinning combo. I picked this up at Walmart for $10 and have been fishing with it since. This trip was especially fun because I catch a smallmouth bass at the lake. This is a rare fish catch for me. If you are on a tight budget and want to go bass fishing, the cheap Ozark Trail Wayfarer is more than capable for just $10. #fishing #bassfishing

I’m telling you,them $10 combo’s end up being your lucky rods. Just check every now and then that all the screws are tight. That’s what happened to mine it just fell apart. Beautiful small mouth. Great video Alex.

Great variety of fish you caught on this day! I’ve caught many a fish on my smallest rod and reel, from panfish like bluegill to smallmouth bass to catfish! It’s how you play the fish without overexerting the reel and rod’s capabilities, not just the rod/reel itself. Some days when nothing else is hitting I purposefully go back to my childhood and actually WANT bluegills, they are just fun to catch, they will hit on practically anything smaller than them and they have been bringing joy to kids for probably centuries. Catching bluegills with dad or grandpa or mom or grandma or Uncle Jack when you are like 5 years old is what starts lifetimes of enjoying fishing.

I love the nostalgia of it too - my dad started taking me fishing when I was 3-4 years old. There's just nothing like being out in nature, with a line in the water catching those pretty little fish. Ultimate relaxation. In fact, that's what I did yesterday and I wish I could be back out there today.

I just caught 2 trout 1 bass and several bluegills,green Sunfish yesterday. I had a tiny grub maybe a 1/16 of an ounce and had to slowly rolling the reel... Warming up...Fish are coming.. Only if we can afford Gas and Food...👊👊 KIR!!

I have yet to catch a smallmouth bass. You have to go out on the river around here to catch most of them. Tennessee is full of smallmouth bass in creeks and rivers. That was a nice one you caught. Can’t go wrong with a cheap spinning combo. If it works, it works!

I bought this combo myself about 2-3 weeks ago, and I ended up slamming the bottom of the rod in the trunk ( I drive a tiny car ) and broke the rod. I repaired the rod with some superglue and fishing line and it worked for about a week, but I ended up taking the reel off and putting it on a telescopic rod I had and honestly it's my favorite combo to use... it's cheap, and works really well what more can you ask for honestly!

Been slaying fish out here in SoCal on that $20 Tiger Shakespeare combo… beefed up the reel and line and been throwing diamond jigs… caught a 5’ Leopard Shark on it , what an amazing fight that was … total cost of set up was $35
