I've done something similar with a nose weighted fluke but I use a pop rivet head up through the belly and do a line through with a treble hook. Action is very trap like. Line through helps save plastics / weights from being shaken off. You do have to be perfectly centered with everything or is doesn't run true.
@ericrobinson93405 ай бұрын
That’s a great idea to use the pop rivet head.
@reggiesmith85505 ай бұрын
I don't know if you ever watch Richard Gene but he pre rigs some of his crappie jig heads with dental floss around shank of hook similar to what you did with the braid and then super glues his plastics and they stay on for awhile. Just an idea, tight lines homey.

@RyanHanksFishing5 ай бұрын
Hey Andrew you are right . I give Ben all the credit for this rig because it has changed how we are able to present these offerings to fish. The difference in using the echo is because of the shape you can actually speed it up and it will list like a vibe or rattle trap . This speed up has been a good bite trigger for us.

I do firmly believe with these more elaborate plastic rigs, we need them with hooks "cast in" in production. Even better with some heavier thread whipped all the way down the shank and glued on the whip finish end. Better adhesion, no alignment or misrigging problems, more durability, and most importantly for the seller a slightly better markup. Proper rigging can make or break a lure. Improper rigging can sour an angler new to a brand/lure. EDIT: Holy shjt you mentioned something similar mid video. Of you patent the idea, i'll take my royalties in a goodie bag of plastics 😁
@mikeybalzz4 ай бұрын
no doubt, rigging this thing correctly is huge! or it won't work right. minnow baits on the way man!
@davidraguse21063 ай бұрын
How do you determine how far the hook eye is set back ? Does altering further back make the action wider ? And further forward tighten the action ?
@kurtrindgen47085 ай бұрын
Wonder if a wrap of small dia lead wire around the shank would help hold it.
@RyanHanksFishing5 ай бұрын
That may work. The thing about the braid is the fibers bite into the plastic which keeps it in place pretty good.

been fishing this rig like a month; so it not new to me; but the fish catching looks fun though
@Boethius4115 ай бұрын
I make my own head for that… it may be for sale very soon. Getting molds made. Crème used to make a urethane rubber lipless crank that was awesome, but I don’t think they make it now. Dumbbell eyes and a center hook hanger for a treble.
@AlabamaBassin5 ай бұрын
Take a paper staple and tie it up to the hook shank with a jig bobbin super glue when finished wrapping and bam you got the best soft plastic keeper for hover hooks. Bend it forward a tad of course 🤙 worth the work bc you'll extend the life of each plastic. You can do this on numerous lures as well.

Is this any different than what Ben freakin Milliken did with his hover juggle bro? I hate to even mention the guy- but it’s 100% the same rig-even down to the nail weight. I really REALLY gotta buy a boat. I'm a shore fisherman and I am rapidly approaching the zenith of my ability to catch fish from shore thanks to guys like Mikey Balls, Nathan Quince, Matt Stefan, and few who's name escapes me I owe a lot to Because of guys like you Mike my fishing success in catching bass literally went up OVER 400% On advice from guys like you using only a few new lures and correct presentations I have already caught more bass and bigger bass in just the last three months than I caught in ALL of 2023 And I am teaching my sons what I learned and they are now much much more successful and want to fish instead of spending time on video games which I hate It's 10x easier to get your sons to go fishing with you when they know the odds are 70% or better they will catch fish which is now the case vs getting skunked which rarely happens anymore Down side though is my boys needed their own fishing setups and tackle and between buying dedicated technique specific fishing set ups standard GP fishing setups and soft plastics and terminal tackle I've bought over a dozen new fishing setups and spent over $300 just on technique specific hooks and another $300-$400 on technique specific soft plastics but by the grace of the good Loard this stuff just flat out catches the heck out of the bass and the great memories I am making fishing with my sons its money very very well spent There is little else in life a dad like me finds brings him more joy and satisfaction than teaching his sons how to do fun things then watch them do it well and there is nothing better than teaching your son how to fish and then watch him do it well. Son told me recently he sure as h*ll enjoyed learning how to fish a frog or a weedless rigged soft plastic fluke a h*lluva lot more than learning how to do a brake job on the car I bought him I feel absolutely confident if I invest in a decent gently used fishing boat and put some good side and down looking sonar on it my boys and I can really get into some great fishing
