Goodwill stores all over the country went way up, which then forced the rest to go up. Locally, the CEO of Goodwill has a salary of @$2,000,000. So it is no longer about being a charity thrift store, like they used to be.

The Goodwills in my area have gotten ridiculously expensive. Everytime I check a comp, Goodwill has it marked for the Ebay price so I guess they are trying to be resellers. Maybe other people are getting as fed up with them as I am. I'm donating to smaller stores and trying to source everywhere but there now as Goodwill has just gotten greedy IMO.

You say you do this full time in your description, but I'm just curious how many hours a day that equates to. Looking up stuff online, listing, packaging, cleaning up items, shopping, sending offers, etc is pretty time consuming. Obviously it gives you the freedom to do it when you want so that's always cool. Do you think it pays out at a competitive rate vs working at a "normal" job? I want to do this as a side thing but I'm worried I'll burn out and be stuck with a lot of stuff in my house LOL
@FlippingJunk2 жыл бұрын
To do it full time you need to invest your life into it. I spend 40-70hrs a week. Yet, some weeks may be less if I have other things going on...since I can be flexible with my hours. What it pays out depends on how much time you put into it, what you're able to source, and how much you would consider a "normal" job to pay just depends on the person. It takes time and lots of space. If you aren't passion about it...it will definitely burn you out quick.

Op shop hunting and flipping used to be fun... But now it seems they have all gotten wise to ebay and the likes... As more and more are actually referencing ebay ads right in the store and the prices are no longer awesome. Sometimes I feel certain locations actually cherry pick before stuff hits the shelves and either sell those outside of the store or send off to a larger store/e-shop. IDK, but the last 3 years have progressively become dryer and lamer. I rarely even bother anymore now. Yard sale hopping though... Yes. Granted, with C19 it's been put off, but can't wait for it to come back

Still have 75 active listings and have like 200 more items i have to list. Today in finished my registration for Amazon and now i am waiting for the postcard with the code than i hope i can get started. I want to start with books for the first few weeks. Make a big box, send them in , get more books, send them in and do it once more.. to get things rolling and as i understand it you have to wait like 2 weeks before you can get funds anyway. So i can just let it run its course. I mean that is my plan. Hope it works out

Can you do a video on selling on Ebay and Amazon. I started putting things on Ebay Anazon I thought charged? Anyway In very low income so dont have much in funding when I make a sale and waiting on the money a pain, is there a way to get the shipping label without paying for it up front like they take it put of your earnings?
@FlippingJunk3 жыл бұрын
I think eBay managed payments and even Amazon takes from current earnings first if you have it available. I have all my shipping going through my credit card so I can get points. Amazon is free to sell, but a pro account is $40 a month.
