I make my icecream with heavy cream, redmond real salt, egg yolks and organic vanilla paste. That’s it. I don’t even need an ice cream maker. I put ice in a big bowl, I put rock salt in it, I put a smaller metal bowl inside that bowl, add my ingredients, mix for 10 min with a mixer then I cover the bowl with plastic and put it in the freezer. 45 minutes later, I take it out and mix it with the mixer again for 7 minutes then I put it back in the freezer and come back to it either 3 hours later if I can’t wait it I wait till 8 hours later. Can add a few blueberries or other keto approved things. Can add a little allulose or stevia but not too much. Just a teeny tiny bit. But I find I don’t need the sweetener. It is just great without it.

so when you take the bowl out of the freezer and mix again, do you put a bowl of ice under it again? Do you put RAW yolks in or cook like custard?

Thank you Dr. Boz for the detailed presentation of the mechanism that confirms fructose as the cause of gout. Everyone (medical professional or otherwise) only ever mentions purines as the cause. 5 years ago, my high uric acid and gout symptoms in my hands prompted my GP to advise me to research gout diets which lead me to keto. I knew my sugar addiction was the cause and what cemented my choice to not give up red meat and all the purine rich foods was one simple question - which has more nutrients? It was a no brainer! So thank you again Dr. Boz for being a wonderful teacher ❤️

Fantastic lesson - Thank you! I love your slide shows. They really go a long way to help viewers more better understand your message. It was fun to watch you get so excited about the ice cream, esp. since a couple months ago I learned everything you covered in this video and was just as excited! Especially since my husband - who has T2D - experienced a (mild hemorrhagic) stroke in mid January 2024. It was a wake-up call for him. He has RLS that has gotten worse over the years. I mentioned that he needed to talk to his doctor about getting his RLS meds increased, but he kept 'forgetting' to do so. Because of lack of sleep from the RLS, his body was no doubt producing more cortisol. As I understand, cortisol increases appetite, so I wasn't surprised he was snacking (on carbs) even more than usual, which caused his RLS to be even worse, leading to even more sleep deprivation. Because he was snacking, he had chronically elevated insulin which leads to increased BP. And being tired, he started failing to take his morning BP meds and had stopped the habit of checking his BP as well. Then the stroke. Now we're both on a low-carb diet. I've been researching all I can to help him transition away from the foods that harm him, and low-carb fits the bill. I was thrilled to learn about allulose. When I educated him a couple of months ago on the same info you shared in this slideshow, I asked, "So do you want to be a guinea pig and experiment with this allulose thing?" He said yes. Soon after I got the Ninja. Honestly, it has been fun watching his sugars fall fast after the allulose ice cream, where before his numbers were elevated and stayed that way for hours. He also continues to lose weight, another plus! I recently learned that beef gelatin also stimulates glp-1 production and that you can make marshmallows with a recipe that uses allulose and the gelatin, though I haven't tried it yet. My main concern is us losing muscle mass. We're both in our 60's and I'm fearful of him losing the wrong kind of weight. So I'll be trying your recipe. Thanks!

Dr Boz, have you EVER had a patient so insulin resistant that it took several months to get their blood sugar under control (without meds)? My A1C was 7.6 in October, and I had gone through so much terrible change quickly. I started really trying to change beginning in November. I was so frustrated that i just couldnt see anything below 115 in the morning, and my fasting would go UP! Well, after 6 months, I'm FINALLY in ketosis! The lowest I've seen so far is 75, but I'll take it! I'm waking up Below 100 now, and every time i check my blood sugar, i do a little dance. Anyway, i did the strips and saw that color change, and boy am i stoked! Thank you for helping me and many others. I STILL can't get used to sardines, but I'm trying. (I've been buying expensive. Can i buy cheap?) Anyway, i just wanted you to know that i got my blood sugar under control without medication, after many failures in the past half year!

We've been making protein ice cream w/allulose for the past few years, but we just mix it by hand when we want soft serve, it's easy enough. Love using beef protein isolate or the egg white powder, both are awesome protein sources. Important to practice some moderation in portion sizes, of course. Love that you showed the science behind these combinations~ great post.

After your video I had to purchase the Ninja Creami Deluxe. I followed your recipe, (bought the egg white protein and extra pints with the Ninja). I already had the Allulose, but I used Fairlife whole milk and a tiny amount of vanilla extract. Holy cow it was good. Then my sun suggested peanut butter. I put some in the center and re-spun it. Wow, it was so good. It tasted like the peanut butter parfait without the chocolate syrup. I can’t wait for my pool party this summer when my grand kids will be over. I’ll make several different flavors for them. Thanks for sharing!

I was experimenting, a few weeks ago,with /allulose and I happened to see you on your show with a candy bar that was made by RX sugar. I heard you say that it was very tasty and you liked it but felt some edema. I thought that I was fine and then a week into the allulose experiment, I was noticing some swelling in my ankles. It was the only thing that I had changed so I stopped the allulose and it took over a week to see all of the swelling go away. I was only taking two teaspoons of it per day. I may try doing it again to see if it was the cause. I now will try DIHYDRO BERBERINE to keep the glucose spike down and be able to have a treat once in a while. Please check out the benefits of DHB!

Thank you Dr Boz for doing the research for us! ❤ I do have a question about the Allulose… does it cause digestive distress (ie…diarrhea) like so many sweeteners do? I have a super sensitive digestive system and artificial sweeteners (which I know aren’t good for you) have caused digestive problems for me any time I’ve ever had them. Even in things I didn’t know they were in! Thank you and your team in advance for any info about this question you can give me! I can’t wait for you to do more videos about this! I have loved Dr Johnson for years and I am convinced that he is the one doctor who will figure out what I believe will kill me in older age, if he doesn't figure it out first, and that is why do we have dehydration & electrolyte imbalances as we age? From what I have seen around older people, electrolyte imbalances and dehydration cause strokes. At age 57, I spent the winter of '21 in Florida and as soon as the heat index hit a certain level I was badly dehydrated ( despite drinking water all the time.) I was/am substantially overweight and was eating low carb. I started feeling gout-like pain. I was peeing like crazy & losing more than a pound a day. Fortunately, a home remedy I'd read about, consuming a whole lot of milk, staved off full-fledged gout but the experience was so miserable I don't think I will ever eat low-carb in high heat & humidity again. I believe my body just couldn't stay hydrated without carbs in those conditions. On the other hand, my body was different before menopause (age 55) and I did much better on keto before M. Anyway, I hope Dr Johnson figures it out, because I'm convinced it's killing a lot of older people prematurely. It's related to uric acid and hydration, and for weight loss reasons, I'm sorry to say, I don't think very low carb is healthy for older people in hot & humid conditions, at least not for my body type. There's a reason (inherent wisdom) people eat watermelon and drink sweet tea in the heat, especially in the south.

How do sugars stay low when eating allulose if insulin lowers blood sugars. Wouldn't that mean you get an insulin spike with allulose?? I really hope it doesn't increase insulin because it is soo good in chocolate. Dr. Chris MasterJohn has shown that linolenic acid also has a pathway to convert to uric acid! Dr Boz, can you address in a future video if people with a history of pancreatitis can do keto? My 36-year-old brother desperately needs the keto lifestyle to protect his already cirrhotic liver and help prevent curb the tremendous sugar cravings that have surfaced now that he is in rehab after a long struggle with drug and alcohol addiction. But after a recent episode of acure pancreatitis his GI doc put him on a low fat diet - yikes. Please help us sort through this. I am sure my brother is not the only person in this predicament.

🌟 This is truly AWESOME "Allulose-Alpha" from the Boz-babe ! I'm keen to give this a crack! - although we gotta import from the US here in Australia (thru iHerb). 🇦🇺 - I too have an 'ice-cream vulnerability' that needs a suitable 'therapy' 😁

I have lived a lifetime of healing disciplines, and spent 10 years on all three bodies, and now half way through the last body to purify, my PHYSICA and its perfect timing with so many good doctors and coaches around physical body issues. Its all work but with a good solid foundation one can become free from all Addictions including sugar, spending money, drama etc. Been on Carnivore for 367 days, only had two cheat days. Plus sometimes I will have an avacado for the potassium and thats about it. At 66, I went Keto when I turned 55, it did not help me that much, then went from Keto to Hard Core Keto then to Ketovore and now Carnivore. Never had an eating disorder and not a big sugar fan in general this lifetime.

I'm a bit confused with the allulose. I don't eat carbs and am well below the 20/day. and have been for months and months. Unfortunately the scale doesn't budge. Did I understand that allulose does something that helps one body process in burning fat ? I get that people are super-enthusiastic about allulose because it won't provoke an insulin response but in my case I'm not concerned about insulin as such since I'm not ingesting carbs but doing more a Carnivore thing. Thanks to those that answer especially Dr Boz.

I'm on week 2 of the keto continuum, and in anticipation of beginning this, I purchased some LMNT electrolyte drink mix. But I didn't know when I bought it, that Dr. Boz says we shouldn't use stevia, which it contains. But when I bought some of the "ketos in a can" from her, I noticed it has stevia. So is it okay to use the LMNT even though it has stevia?
@magoo814

I use LMNT almost every day. The small amount of stevia doesn't bother me at all. On fasting days I used the choc LMNT in black coffee, it doesn't pull me out of the fast

LMNT is fine to use. Especially if u put it in 40 Oz of water instead of smaller amounts. It dilutes the sweetness so as not to trigger cravings

Please check out YT "Black Tie Kitchen" KETO ICE CREAM - works with any ice cream machine. Uses allulose as a sweetener, and WHEY protein isolate (lots of BCAA's). I omit the drops of stevia (I hate it - yuck). It is not rock-hard, has lots of fat & protein, safe for diabetics, and is FABULOUS! I also sometimes add 1/3 C unsweetened natural cacao, or other flavors (coconut, etc) for variation, but those may be a bit higher in carbs (as would added fruit like strawberries or blueberries). Seriously good - tastes like premium "regular" ice cream!
