@johnrus76612 ай бұрын
@MasterofPlay7 It's a step down IMO and really needs a sub to work. Makes a lot of sense in a surround. But for two channel. Hands down the RF-7 III. Even with a sub, I just much prefer the midrange of dual 10" drivers. My preference for a audiophile two chanel setup is dual 10's. Even the incredible Wilson's with their dual 8's just didn't do it for me as a true 2 chanel system for the midrange and below. The Dual 10" B&W (Both 50k mind you) had a thickness and weightiness that the dual 8" could not match. And having compared the RP-8000 to the RF-7 III. I get a similar situation, at much less insane price point of course.😆 And you can buy them used for $1200 to $1500 if you shop around. At that price, i would not even hesitate for the RF-7 III's.

@johnrus7661 but isn't 10 inch driver slow?

There’s no such thing as a slow driver. If you change the speed of a driver, you change the frequency. 80 Hz moves the same speed on a 10 inch driver that it does on a 50 inch driver.

Each have their own unique characteristics and were reviewed at different times, and in different rooms of my home. The 1723 were reviewed in my dedicated theater room which is properly treated, while the F200’s were reviewed in my living room with less than optimal acoustics, but typical of what most peoples living rooms would sound like. it’s really difficult to do an AB comparison, especially if you do not have them set up with switching so you can easily switch between speakers to hear the differences in real time. I wish I would’ve had more time with them so that I could put them in the same room and at least do some AB switching between them.

Gave me a smile seeing a man hug his speaker confession I do that myself sometimes no judgment here. Okay I’m thinking about getting the Klipsch 800 series. Long story short I have two Eddison they have all together 2 15’ woofers I put a JBL compression driver better crossover network into them. Now why I bring this up cause I want more space after 👂 kg Klipsch 800’s and the 8000’s have good bass I’m like sounds good enough for me I’m not looking to shake my neighbors, coffee table. At the time I bought those Edison speakers, I did not have credit with Best Buy like I have now so I settled for the furniture store stereos system I had an account with them since I was 18 bought allot of things there over the years the Edison stereo was not the best. I got a Yamaha AV receiver and worked with what I got with the 15’s the tweeters were crap that’s why I put a JBL horn compression driver in them better crossover network I did not want a light show. I wanted great sounding music. Plus I enjoy working on speakers so I’m pretty much still thinking on it. 41$ per month for Klipsch 800’s is a sweet deal the ones I have now are fine I thought about extra space I will have. Trust me I can say more in this comment cause I love talking bout speakers.

I am disappointed you didn't mention more about the plinth. Talking about the plinth is usually the highlight of these videos. Again this video did not have enough talk about the plinth. The plinth really deserves more screen time. Plinth...

Been a Tesla owner since 2017. There’s nothing like it. We now have a 2018 Model X 100D that we’ve put over 110k miles on taking road trips all over the country - exploiting the crap out of our free supercharging perk 😂 Glad you got to experience a Plaid Model S 👊

Sometimes you just have to 'let go' Only remember the *good times* with the Klipsch. The separation anxiety must get bad at times Michael! 😁 Time will heal all wounds.! Anyway Martin Logan seem to have very well made speaker cabinets, and excellent overall sound output enjoyment.

I have been a home cinema enthusiast since the last 20 years started small and worked my way up, I was a B& W kind of guy. I think I am nearing a point where I have tried every speaker, projector, AV Receiver, you all know the drill, I have come to a point in my life where upgrading doesn’t thrill me any more as I really don’t see much point as to notice any difference I would have to spend 10’s of thousands of pounds dollars more to achieve anything better than what I have now, suppose I have equipment that you really can’t get any better as it is currently is the best. I owned B & W 702 S3 Left & Right & the HTM72 S3. I sold those for the RF-7 III Right & Left & the RC-64 III centre channel. What I noticed was the quality of the construction of the Klipsch versus B & W. B & W is way better built with the piano lacquered finish the Klipsch are good don’t get me wrong but not on par with B & W where the Klipsch do excel is in A home Cinema dedicated room, I run those through a dedicated power amplifier connected to a Denon top of the range AV receiver. Am I happy with Klipsch hell yes would I change them for another speaker definitely not they produce Movie music & sounds with aplomb. The Klipsch speakers are like Marmite for our North American friends please Google Marmite as you either love it or hate it, I love the Klipsch speakers I love the sound and the front sound stage is fantastic, what I don’t like too much are those 10’’ driver copper bin lids, they drive me wonky looking at them so I keep the front grilles on and they disappear. Looks like I will keep these Klipsch speakers forever I have no reason to sell them as they are a fantastic sounding speaker, I got them in black the centre was in natural cherry so I painted that one black did a fantastic job honestly you would never know it wasn’t factory and it matches the front L & R. Sorry you sold the Klipsch but you got to do what you got to do, move on and upwards. Newer is not necessarily better a speaker cabinet is a speaker cabinet with a driver in a tall oblong box they never change what the Klipsch RF 7 lll do is give that cinematic feel to a movie soundtrack that is what I noticed as the B & W’s never did was gave that Cinematic sound, Suppose you have a dedicated Cinema room with bigger speakers than the Klipsch for your front sound stage I am at a point where I have made the decision to say these Klipsch are the end of the speaker upgrade path for me at least I cant see me getting anything better as I would need to spend at least 10K more to get a better sound than my current speaker setup. That’s my rant, God Bless you Sir.

If I want to listen to high performance, bland looking speakers, I go to my theater room and listen to my JTR’s which are far superior to the MartinLogan F200’s

Heck I redone my speakers painted them I’m a hobbyist at heart. If I had credit with Best Buy like I have now best believe I’d been done had two Klipsch speakers with my Yamaha receiver instead of selling for those Edison speakers from a furniture store I bought furniture from many years. At the time just had to work with what I had for 15 inch woofers all they needed was a better horn speaker JBL compression driver plus better crossover networks and a paint job. Now that I’m thinking of space those Klipsch 800’s look good to me now.
