But is jaywalking illegal in the city that GTA V is set in? Lots of places have removed jaywalking laws spec bcuz they arent actually anything more than moneymaking schemes and ways to target minorities. Tho the way he crossed the street wud likely still have been considered recklessly endangering folks bcuz he didnt take the shortest path across the road, but ran at an angle and weaved between traffic. Tho the beauty of that crime is its a subjective one and you dont actually commit the crime of reckless endangerment unless a cop says you did and tickets/arrests you for it. Bcuz crossing that street at an angle cud be not reckless endangerment if there werent cars on the road that were endangered by said crossing. So my verdict is... It depends on whether their city/state law considers jaywalking a crime (and how they define jaywalkin; for example, Salem Oregon considers jaywalkin a crime but only calls it jaywalking if crossing at an angle or near a designated crosswalk or you impede traffic, which means you can prty much always cross the street if theres no traffic)
