Fr. John is a priest from my diocese, and we went to the same high school. I had a chance to talk with him after dinner with his buddy Fr. Jonathan Meyer earlier this year. I told him that I had been following his journey, and when I visited Lourdes last summer I said a prayer in thanksgiving for his miraculous healing. I’m less than two years away from being ordained a priest, and I am blessed to be surrounded by holy priests like Fr. John.

Please tell Fr. Hollowell that I came back to Church with my son thanks to him. After the scandals I didn't think it was safe to bring my son to Church. His homilies made me love and respect priests again. I pray daily for the holiness of God's consecrated. May you become a very holy priest.

Fr John Hallowell is a very holy, very faithful priest. I followed his story when he first offered up himself to Our Lord for the good of the victims of abusive clerics. I have been blessed by God with many afflictions, nothing fatal so far. I've also been given some (what I assume are) gifts, like an end to the sensations of hunger and thirst. I asked him to give me more if He thought I could handle it so that I could bear the weight of sin instead of others, since I though I could handle it physically and spiritually. He soon obliged, and now I cannot smell or taste hardly anything. I feel blessed to bear this yoke as it humbles me far more than I could ever have humbled myself.
