I remember coming off of my surgeries (I had eight surgeries in under 2 1/2 years for my first breast cancer). And coming down from the surgeries was a very strange feeling. First of all, I didn’t know that you were stupid after surgeries. Going all the way under anesthesia steals brain cells. Your nouns are the first to go. So you’re dealing with that, in my case, I was dealing with uncertainty, and I did keep having cancer that they couldn’t get to. So I had all of that as well, but I had the pain and I think that the drugs that I was given for the surgeries helped with my pain long-term, and when they started to wear off multiple years later, I realized I was a little bit smarter, and my pain was a little bit more. I hope this makes sense. So glad you had your hysterectomy and you don’t have to dread that every month anymore!
