Agreed! I’m a retired organizer and I want to say, people, please don’t guilt your family and friends to taking your discarded possessions, no matter how precious you believe the items to be. It’s not a loving thing to do.

With everything this woman is doing I’m not surprised her place is up in a heap. She must have been so overwhelmed. She has guilty clutter because she can’t say no to stuff from her mam and grandmother (I understand that, for me I’m afraid I will hurt the other person’s feelings) and saying ‘no thanks’ can be very hard. She did fantastic letting so much go to charity. I think in time she will let more stuff go too. You are fantastic to help all the people you do and give them space and freedom too. I always tell my daughter in law that she can get rid of anything I bought or given her if it doesn't fit there life style. I never want to clutter up someone home. Even things I bought for myself, I don't want anymore. I ask want they want for birthdays and holidays. Or what can of gift cards they might need. Nobody wants to waste money. Stuff I'm giving away I asked. But I tell them don't take if they don't need. Love this channel ❤ because I'm running out of things to get rid of.

My sister-in-law just moved. Some stuff were duplicates, others were still in original packaging. As we were unpacking I would ask her why? And she said blank gave it to me. I said do you use it, love it, and when the answer was no I said you don’t have to keep it just because someone gave it to you. Some things she was able to let go of and others she could not. But we made some headway.😊

I have a teeshirt tip; roll them. I am married to a tee shirt freak. I roll them and got three drawers worth in 1. When you do that, you can stack them in layers. I swear it saves SO much space!

Such a wonderful help for this homeowner. When an older relative offers you clothes it maybe that they have no transport and can’t take it to charity stores themselves; say no thanks and offer to take it to the charity store yourself. It’s ok to have your own preferences and to express those to others.

I'm 70yo. It's getting easier go hear daughter say no most times I ask doesn't she want my collections of stuff. I assumed she would think it was as great as I thought, but nope, she has different likes. These days when I offer her something, she say no, it's on the street! She is learning to not be so quick to turn down stuff like quilts and glassware!

I love when parents or grandparents cant part with an item or clothing so they give it away to the next generation of young. I didn’t blame this lady. Go and live you life. You dont have to hold onto the Boomers’ stuff.
