I own a fertilizer company. This is how much fertilizer I use on my lawn. Oh you thought I was gonna tell you right now? No. A person might think that if you own a company that manufactures fertilizer that that person would use a significant amount of it. In my case, you would be very mistaken.
Fertilizing your lawn has become very much over blown and turned into something complicated when it's never actually been more simple. Your lawn will tell you exactly when it needs to be fed, and the cues that it gives you are very apparent.
There are only two things that you need to have a Lawn that everybody is jealous about. That is cut and color. If you are cutting your lawn frequently and it is nice and tight, that's step one. If the color is dark green and beautiful, that step two and now you have one in the neighborhood battle.
Visiting the website of your local cooperative extension will help you with your basic needs for your turf grass. In the case of mine, I use considerably less than what is recommended on that site and still get the results that you will see in this video. This is a results driven, epic Lawn, using minimal inputs.

One of the great benefits of the bio-stims is how much longer after I stop feeding the Bermuda in September that the lawn stays green. It literally took a hard freeze in the teens to tell the lawn it was time to go dormant

JP been loving all your videos ! I've used your biostim pack for a number of years. I live in an adult community who I have stopped the association from caring for my lawn an even mow myself with a battery mower. At 72, I do everything. No need to store large fertilizer bags any longer just a few gallons of your products . I use your Green Pop with RGS, Humic 12 and Micro Green and can't tell you how many times neighbors stop and comment on my lawn. I even have my son into your products with the same results. MANY thanks for your, always humorous ( much needed in today's world) and educational videos. Anthony

Really amazing what your Next products have done to my lawn and sandy soil over the last 4 to 5 years. When we bought our house 5 years ago in FL, it was a weak lawn, and was worn out by big chemical granular dumps very often, I could tell. Now, even in a severe drought and without overwatering, my St Augustine is thriving, and looks better than it ever has, including a soil that has become dark and nutrient rich. I've had multiple people stop and ask what I'm doing/using.

I used your RGS & Humic, combined it with a foliar of fish fert and some random lawn fert products two years ago. The guy up on the hill said I had the greenest yard in the hood. Normally I put down a bag of lawn granular and a bag of triple 12 for the entire season on 16k of area (yield= 1 lb of N). I did a soil test and have been pounding lime to get the PH where it needs to be for my area. Been overseeding tall fescue in a Lowes variety that has a dark green color. "alittle off the top, please" is the only thing my lawns have asked for so far this year; however they say it every other day, and already I can't put it off for more than 4 days .... and we just spent the last two weeks hot and dry("red flag" fire warnings in my area) and I haven't even bothered to water, just letting the roots find it themselves by going deeper this early with the new plantings from last year

Man I’m tempted to let a section of my lawn go “natural” this year and not water it. Basically see how it manages and then seed it in the fall back to life. How much money could I save? If my lawn costs 100.00 in water every month for 4-5 months and the seed for my size lawn is only 80.00…. Starts to seem interesting. But then it would look and feel amazing all summer 😂

I wish I had the same results with his liquid products. I've spent around $700 on various Greene County Fertilizer products and they just don't perform like his videos. My KBG lawn looks much better with granular fert. I follow the 3-4lbs per 1k granular in Minnesota. All the soil around here tends to have high ph. I think the last time I sent in a soil test it was 7.2 or 7.5. maybe that's why liquid with lower nitrogen doesn't work as well? I'm just being honest but it hasn't worked well on my lawn. I calibrate my liquid sprayer to follow the recommended amount of product per 1k sq ft with 1 gallon of water per 1k sqft and I just don't get the results of a lesco granular. I enjoy the knowledge in the videos though haha.

On the nerdy side of this, a performance grade turf is a sports field. A homeowner doesn't have that need. That lowers the requirement to 3 pounds, but 2 to 2.5 pounds of clippings are returned. I wonder if there are differences between granular and liquid in rates of nitrogen escaping. I think the automower mowing all the time allows the clippings to break down faster.
@Lawncology
@Lawncology Жыл бұрын
Bingo. I’m sure there are studies on the liquid granular convo. I know that we’ve done our material against granular in university trials regularly but to specifically related to N loss. The automower for sure makes a difference.

@@Lawncology so no calculations. I checked your 26-0-0 formula because you said you included a slow release Urea component. I personally find so much wrong with the average person tossing around urea but we won’t go there. At any rate.especially in the US, it’s all about $ at the expense of the environment and the consumer. While I agree lab tests show that your product does slow the urea transformation down there are few studies showing how the urea inhibitor moves in the environment. One such study looked at how corn( a grass) , peas , etc were affected by your urea regulator, and I quote from that study: “The results of the present work show that the presence of NBPT in the root external solution can lead to an inhibition of urea uptake mechanisms and prevent induction of genes involved in its assimilation, besides the well-documented effect on urease activity.j” Basically the NBPT changed how the plants natural processes treat N. I assume you have well water. Not sure how you manage your property but why would the average weekend warrior want to apply a urea inhibitor to his or her lawn and assume everything is fine? You are a smart inventive guy so I comment only because you are making lawn care WAY more involved and potentially harmful than it has to be. Big cooperate farms have destroyed the American food supply and you bought into it by trying to manage urea which is a very poor source of N unless you don’t give a crap about how the soil ecology is supposed to work. I do applaud your efforts in regards to kelp and fulvic acid and I suggest you do some homework investigating amino acids to boost N via natural means. By all means chemical regulation of urea is not the road to travel down
