What's up Everybody? Today I'm talking about Spoon Feeding your lawn vs Standard or 6 week interval fertilization. I have a unique opportunity between my lawn and my neighbors lawn to showcase two different feeding styles and while I will be using products from my own line (Greene County Fertilizer Company N-Ext Products) the rules and general guidelines remain the same for all fertilizer types.
For most people "what is spoon feeding?" probably doesn't come up in regular conversation, but the could be wondering why their neighbors lawn is greener and what they are doing to get it there. By the end of this video, the best fertilizer plan for you should be pretty easy to decide... less more often or more less often?
The general rule is to make sure there is enough "fuel in the tank" when you start spoon feeding. A full measure of whatever fertilizer you choose to use is needed when you start and then weekly or every other week feedings can take place. Seeing as I can monitor both lawns, this will be a fun way to see how two styles end up with a similar result. By the end of the season, the lawns will end up with the same amount of fertilizer, micronutrients, biostimulants, and soil amendments. The only difference will be when and how much per time is applied.
In this video I decided to start with GreenePop as my fertilizer and Humic12 as the additive. The GreenePop contains phosphorus at 21% as well as a measure of both RGS and Air8. (little known fact) This will give me a little push as we enter summer and in 6 weeks we will change the fertilizer portion.
