To let me explain to what Cory said about having a bullet left in the chamber, (even though I'm late as hell) if you swap magazines with a loaded (no matter how many rounds are left in the magazine, as long as there's one in the chamber) firearm, you will have a round left in the chamber, because it already exited the magazine, meaning there is more space for an extra round inside of the firearm. To make this explanation more simple, when you take a magazine out the firearm and there's already a round that has entered the chamber, the chambered bullet still does not get ejected from the firearm's chamber, nor is it in the magazine anymore, therefore it will not be taken or ejected from the firearm's chamber while all the other rounds in the mag are released/taken out.
