As a person who uses humanscale monitor arms at home for work and in the office the cable management is probably the best IV seen, all their monitor arms really hide the cables out of the way, IV set up other monitors arms for friends and family and I'm always amazed at how some companies have cable management as a mere afterthought and it can really ruin the look of your set up

i recently got the HUANO dual monitor stand and so far i'm very happy with it. i don't love how it attaches to the desk, i'd prefer a more "attached" clamp but it hasn't given me any problems and so far, would totally purchase again

I recently bought the Ergotron HX for my Dell S3220DGF monitor (which only weighs around 7.5kg), and I have had no issues with positioning it exactly where I want it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the monitor you mentioned being too light was the LG G2 OLED? According to LG's main product page, it has a weight of 9.8kg (without the stand), so it's technically within the recommended weight range of 9.0-19.1kg. Maybe that monitor arm is faulty, and not allowing you to adjust the tension correctly?
@JL-nn8ls
@JL-nn8ls 9 ай бұрын
Yea, it can definitely hold the LG G2. I have it holding my 6.27kg Alienware AW2725DWF without problem. I also have another HX holding an even lighter Dell s2721dgf 4.5kg but requires some adjustments to make it work.

Thank you for a very nice video. I really like monitor arms and would love to get your take on the most "fancy" (best looking) monitor arm. I get that the humanscale focuses decently on the look, but is there any monitor arm out there that you think really LOOKS insanely beautiful and minimal? I have been on an endless search for the "perfect" monitor arm and I every single one has a flaw....I need to find the one with the most 1) minimal , 2) beautiful and 3) utilitarian design....Something even better than the Herman Miller Flo :)

It should be enough, as your monitor weighs 9.2kg (without the stand) according to Samsung's website, and the VIVO monitor arm can support up to 15kg.

LX supports up to 11kg, and the HX can support up from 9kg. It entirely depends on your budget, and whether you'd ever buy a bigger or heavier monitor in the future.

It's important to note that you can safely ignore how many inches the arm says it supports, because it just comes down to weight anyways.
@trevscott2309
@trevscott2309 5 ай бұрын
Not quite true, the distribution of the weight matters as well. Wider monitors extend the weight further out from the center mass of the stand and gives the arm LESS leverage to hold the weight. Try picking up 30 Ibs. box close to your body … now lift it with your arms fully extended outward. See the difference?
@kruhl28
@kruhl28 5 ай бұрын
@@trevscott2309we aren’t talking physics, we are talking monitor arms. The manufacturers don’t make different arms based on monitor inches, they make them based on weight. Wider monitors will necessarily mean the arm has to be sturdier and support more weight than narrower ones.
@trevscott2309
@trevscott2309 5 ай бұрын
@@kruhl28 Yes, we’re talking monitor arms, where physics 100% come into play - period. Just because you don’t want to acknowledge it doesn’t make it any less true … so I’ll say it AGAIN; the further weight is distributed from the point of center (in this see the monitor arm base) the less leverage you have to control the weight. If you don’t want to accept basic physics then just agree to disagree and move on.
@kruhl28
@kruhl28 5 ай бұрын
@@trevscott2309 It just means they use thicker metal and thicker bolts/screws to withstand the higher tolerances. I’m not disagreeing that your physics are wrong, I am agreeing with you on that. I’m just explaining that from a consumers perspective, all they have to worry about is meeting the weight requirements and they are good no matter how wide the monitor is. For example, there is a monitor arm that does 57 inches and 44 lbs. There’s another monitor arm that does 49 inches and 44 lbs. In this case, the one listed at 49 inches and 44 lbs can hold a 57 inch monitor with no problem as long as the monitor is under 44 lbs.

It doesn't really matter when almost all of these monitor arms are manufactured in China. The Humanscale one says its country of origin is Ireland, but I'm not sure if that's just their Europe HQ or where the products are actually manufactured.

Manufacturing is done in China, Vietnam and Malaysia depending on the product, but we are an American company! The Vivo phone company in China is different, although our customer support team can probably almost give tech support on those phones with how many wrong number calls we get.
