You connected the battery tender to the bonding cable side of your switch. If your switch is off your battery will not be charged by the tender it needs to be on the other side of the switch. The "O" is the symbol replicating a break in the connection and the "I" is an unbroken or closed connection
@whynotdean89663 сағат бұрын
Really? That's a terrible scheme to use for electronics. "O" could just as easily represent a completed circuit.

think of the i and o as 1 and 0 from binary..... ** so no power would be 0 and yes power would be 1 (**the quick and extremely basic explanation of binary is we use a series of electrical pulses to send information, using a steady rhythm at every interval if there is no pulse given it equals 0 if there is a pulse given it equals one and then we arrange the zeros and ones to mean different things)

O stands for open. The solid line is closed. Imagine a giant metal throw switch for a circuit. When it's off, the circuit is open. When you turn it on, you close the switch and it's on. Might want to move your tender to the other side of the switch. Then, you can charge with the circuit open.

A battery has a life time of roughly 5 years, thats what i have found from the multiple vans i hace owned. its worth checking the batteries of the other machines just in case another battery about to do the same. you dont usually notice it until it goes. also batteries are pretty common as a replacement part, so its not a surprise its cheaper than Napa.
@scottnelson5722Сағат бұрын
You could put a small solar panel and 1 or 2amp Noco tender onboard. In my experience when a battery has gone flat into the low single digit volts once or twice they’re never quite the same even after running repair modes with a good charger. if you can keep them from ever going flat in the first place they can last 10 years or more. Interesting battery, wonder how they compare to an agm. Thanks for the video.

There's hardly anything that Michigan Man likes more than watching someone else work. That did look like a bit of a pain for a battery swap. On my car, I have to pull a plastic cover, then remove and set aside some computer with heat sink that has 3 1 1/2" bundles of cables attached just to get to the battery. It's not too bad, but still slows down the work. O is for Open switch. The straight line represents a closed switch.
@BattleChemist15 сағат бұрын
With the tender wire on the other side of the switch from the battery cable, won't that mean you'll have to turn on the master switch to have a closed circuit and allow it to charge the battery? If that's the case, I'm thinking that's probably not desired, since you'll want the master switch off while the vehicle is stored. Maybe I'm thinking of it wrong and there's another way for it to complete the circuit to charge. 🤔

Equipment uses 0 and 1 binary code because it's the simplest way to represent electrical signals in a computer system, where "on" is represented by 1 and "off" is represented by 0, allowing for easy manipulation of data through electronic circuits with transistors that can only be in one of two states (on or off) - making it the most efficient method for digital data processing.
