Tip for Drek for anyone else, use the flame thrower, it’s damage is tied to frame rate and with the rerelease versions running quicker, it chunks him down like nothing.

@@NoahWilliams6258nefarious was harder for me in childhood, I used to beat drek for fun, for the first play through you have to do what I call the “drek tax” just pay for blaster ammo with the pda, when you get the ryno on play through 2-3 you can beat him with ease

I can't imagine beating the first game on a stream where you can't just go offline for 4-5 hours using the taunter infinite bolt glitch to get the Ryno for the Drek fight

It makes sense to start at the beginning of the boss fight as otherwise you are locked in even if you dont have the resources to win.

Drek is actually easier than you think. 2 shot bursts from the Blaster or Tesla Claw quick zaps(that's what I call it) will bring down his health 1 tick at a time. The bots can be lured close together and easily destroyed with either the Bomb Glove or Devestator.

For the Drek boss, use the Bomb Glove, the Pyrocitor or the Tesla Claw (though I don't think it was in your inventory. Also, don't aim if you have the devastator, just run towards him and the shots will auto-lock. If you have to pick a different weapon, pause and select it automatically. Unlike in the other games, when you're selecting a weapon from the weapons wheel, the game won't stop but it does if you select it through the pause menu. Thankfully, they solved this issue in the next game

The easiest way to beat drek is to get 1,000,000 bolts early on and then purchase the RYNO. Makes the flight really really easy

that "1,000,000 bolts" part reminds me of a video where someone was playing "Sonic Forces", and needed to collect 100,000 RINGS for a trophy. he wound up re-doing one level repeatedly, collecting 900-999 rings each time, so it took him...2 or 3 hours. oh, he also used a character with a "magnet" ability, otherwise it would have been 700 per run, at most.

You actually CAN strafe in R&C 1. You have to hover with the jetpack by pushing R1 twice, then you can strafe by holding R2

There is a tower After Quark battle where you Can jump from wall to wall to an elevator where the room is 😉 GG for these platinium trophy I'm seeking them right now I'm glitching to 1 million bolts when I type this it's a pain to the a** 😂😂

unpopular opinion. The lack of strafe is what makes the 1st game work. Strafing would've made me not use the unique weapons as varied on my first playthrough.... however.. the weapon selections arent quite balanced anyways (nor the currancy) cause now if I replay... I use wrench, blaster, suck cannon, Devastator. then visibomb for gold bolts, and i add Tesla coil for the final boss

on ps3 you can kill the final boss of the first game easily with the flamethrower, something to do with the framerate and how often the enemy is damageable.

that won't work on the american version (the one he is most likely playing on), it's exclusive to the PAL version do to an issue with upscaling

@@gareth6956 it applies to both physical and digital. Keep in mind these are still PS2 games, just with higher resolutions. Hell, a PAL PS3 can output the game in 50 hz (which will make the pyro glitch not work). It really was just an issue with them taking the PS2 PAL version and upscaling from 50 hz.

I will say this: I LOVE this franchise. Easily one of my all-time favorite franchises I've ever played. But I HATE the first game. The controls are wonky and the Drek fight is horrible. But every other game after that is fantastic. Well done, Brando.

You lie. A) That's not all the PS2 Ratchet and Clank games. You're missing Size Matters and Secret Agent Clank. B) None of these are PS2 games, you are playing the PS3 ports. C) PS2 never had achievements (but the built-in Skill Points in Insomniac's games function similarly).
