dedede's was pretty bad because he was slow in the air and couldn't grab ledge if he didn't cancel up b, also snakes was a little predictable. Famously snake is very easily gimped by meta knight up b which launches snake at a ridiculous angle and meta knight always hits the snake up b projectile there fore not being in helpless state and actionable again

It’s refreshing to see a competitive player appreciate Brawl because my god, everyone else shits on this game. Like yeah, it’s one of the worst competitively, but casually, I’d say it’s the most fun. World of Light has nothing on the masterpiece that is Subspace Emissary

nah Brawl has been getting a lot more love as of the past few years. but its def not the most fun casually if you just learn how to casually wavedash and L-cancel in Melee (which isnt hard to do at all). people who dont play melee think casual melee is just void of any techs whatsoever but a true casual melee experience typically includes all the common techs performable by the cast

@@spimbles I'd imagine that's true, but I never played melee. I just remember it being a lot of fun. Maybe it's cos I was a kid and thought of silly creative things but man.. SSE definitely made me do that the most. It's all of these characters you know and love but they have roles to play in the story. The scene where Wario holds Ness' trophy by the head and cackles while lightning strikes in the background made him seem like an actual villain. Wario's usually a joke character but here? He's scary. Not to mention the moment with Ganondorf in the R.O.B. factory is genuinely despicable and heartbreaking. As a kid that's how it felt at least. I think tripping wouldn't be fun but beyond that, I see the slow launch speed and the old items and assist trophies as quirks. Even coin launcher is a cool little novelty. What does it do? I forgot but I used to play it for hours. Anyway yeah, Melee is probably a lot more exciting but I see Brawl as charming. Regardless, there are so many more small things I can say about brawl, like the fact that Final Destination's music peaked in Brawl (Ultimate's is a close second), but this comment would be like 11 paragraphs long.
