I Played 100 1v1 Games... Here's What I Learned. A little change-up from my 100 hour series, this week I played 100 1v1 ranked games in rocket league and documented my wins, my losses and my what I learnt. This video serves as a mini 1v1 tutorial guide from me after thee 100 1v1 games as I got to learn a lot about my won playstyle and how to improve in 1v1 rocket league. Rocket League 1v1 is always a tough game mode, but if you want to know how to improve rocket league skills and especially your 1v1 skills, it is definitely the best way to go about it. Improving in rocket league and improving your 1v1 skills are by far the most fun thing about the game for me at the moment, so playing 100 games of ranked 1s has been a lot of fun. I hope you can take away some rocket league tips and 1v1 rocket league tips to help you improve in rocket league.

I got c3 in 1s two weeks ago, even though my mechanics were quite sloppy and i would miss easy open nets and so on. Nevertheless one week later i went on to getting 1200 and then gc in 1s, just because of the idea of staying grounded, not take any risks and concentrate on minimizing the amount of mistakes i made. So everytime i was getting scored on, it was because my opponent outplayed me with a flick or because he kept pressure for a long time (or through a kickoff). Just wanted to say that, because the idea that Thanovic explains in this video really can get you to gc, even when your mechanics are half decent at best.

I know it's been a while, but my 1s are currently around p3/d1 lately I have been focusing on my 1s as it improves my overall consistency, and gamesense for sure it's annoying and tilting but I was only gold 3 in 1s around 3 days ago. One small issue with playing 1s in OCE is the amount of smurfs in the lower ranks, one of the reasons my 1s are so low is because I frequently run into smurfs, and am not consistent enough to beat them. I have made the decision to main my 1s until I hit c1, I haven't touched my 2s in around 2 months, It's still sitting at 1429 mmr lmao. Anyway if you are in the lower ranks or a champ like myself I recommend playing 1s, as it helps with your gamesense, decision making, and consistency, as well as ground play and some other mechanical aspects. But if I leave any tip, play it slow, play it smart, don't take risks, capitalize on their mistakes, pressure them into mistakes, practice in freeplay and custom training beforehand and most importantly it's fine to lose a few games, don't worry about the opponent just have fun, it's pretty easy not to tilt, just remember that your mindset is nearly everything. Good luck and have fun.

Fascinating. Sometimes I feel too grounded in 1v1s. Like I'm only platinum in 1s, but diamond 3/ champ 1 in 2s and 3s. These people I play against constantly go for air dribbles meanwhile I barely even go up the walls. They're probably pissed when they lose to a guy that spent 95% of the game on the ground, but it's nice to see that it's not even a bad strategy. I will consider the learnings of this video next time I play.

Pro tip for 1v1: Use quick chat in a friendly way! It makes the games a lot less bad feeling. Like, it can give you and your opponent to show each other that it's all in good fun and no one's looking down on the other for messing up and no one's being cocky or nothin. Because I find that the most enraging thing in 1s is when someone seems cocky. Be humorous. I love saying Oops! Calculated is good if you miss or its a good way of complimenting your opponent. Nice shot / Nice one. Siiiick and Savage are essentials. Shit works. It's helped me not get as frustrated which is way better for my game. When I'm angry I play too aggressively and then go for demos after I mess up rather than getting back into defensive position

Man do I HATE 1v1. It is by FAR the MOST tilting game mode. That being said, it has only helped me to get better as a player. It also REALLY helps your mentality in the long run if you truly analyze your gameplay. When I start to tilt, I stop playing after the current game, knock the ball around in freeplay (maybe do some packs or workshop maps) and then go back to my replays (I save ALL my 1v1 games) and analyze my gameplay to see what I am doing wrong. Another great video, Thanovic!

Enjoying the vids man, keep up the awesome content! One thing to note for ones improvement is that you are where you are because you've run through the other videos, for example practicing shooting power which then enables you to get those punishing cross map clears on target AND fast enough. Having tools like that in your pocket make you so much more lethal than just someone with a decent flick. It'd be cool to see you break down your gameplay and measure how much each tip has contributed to your performance in certain modes. Also, play 100 games of Dropshot or Hoops, those modes both are about different elements of the game that still contribute to core RL gameplay and it'd be interesting to see what you learn, and what you bring back into your normal modes.

Pretty new to the game and got plat 1 just by trying to choke the opponent and working off the basis that I'm going to whiff most of the chances I take. My mechanics are shit and even then I'm still just practicing the most basic aerial saves and making open nets. I actually find that when I'm "playing better" I end up losing more because I'll take more chances. It's cool to have this strategy ratified, thought maybe it was just blind luck!

I am playing Rocket League on my switch in handheld with satisfy grip. I have total experiance of 60 hours with the game. I play freestyle a half hour to hour a day. I play all the online games in 3 vs 3 games only. I am trying to grow by watching the other players on the field. I am getting proud of myself. My ball control is getting better. Even if I have hard time getting goals the amount of contact time I have with the ball in each game had grown allot. I am right now trying to get good with the ball coming down from above me trying to bring nose of car up and turn car left and right to hit the ball anyway I can. My biggest overall challenge dribbling is just hitting the ball and staying close for next hit without passing or falling short of next hit.

The secret to 1s is do less. I'm c3 in 1s and Im not trying to be a pro or anything this is just what works for me from playing 1000s of 1s games. You might want to try to win every kickoff, but no just don't lose the kickoff. You might want to challenge more or fake challenge more, but no you can probably do nothing but be in the way and they'll just give you the ball. You might want to score with every shot, but no just shoot and don't put yourself in a bad position and see what happens. You might want to try to win, but no just watch your opponent and try to get in a flow with them. There's more but i think you get the idea. The biggest thing is you'll gain and lose ranks in the short term but if you're trying to improve then overall over longer periods of time you'll gain. Do keep in mind D3, c1 and c2 contains lots of gc's from other game modes. upper c2, c3, and gc in 1s are gc in other game modes but are trying to improve 1s also so if you aren't progressing in terms of rank but are staying where you are you are improving. Don't be tilted 1s are fun and stress free. No one to judge you except you.

@@bamadraws298 If you were to break it down, it would be more mental than mechanical. It's mentally taxing to be down by 5 but still know that you have a chance to come back and win. Your awareness, spacing, position, all of the mental aspects find you in a more advantageous position than ceiling shots do. Example: if you played 1v1 in plat you have people that go for ceiling shots, however they typically do not win the game because it puts them out of position, they become tilted, lose rank.

And rocket league constantly shows you that in chunks of 5 minutes. Everybody has potential to come to Plat, if you are not, you are doing something wrong. If you don’t study and accept you are doing something wrong, you will be forever that Gold II that gets 100% boost and stays in goal waiting to counter attack, struggling with passing through gold 3.

Thanovic even with your other videos though, and interpret was the wrong word. Conveying your results so everyone can understand and fit it with their own game mechanics and understanding. You truly are under appreciated with the community and need 5 million subs now.

Could you please do some beginner guide since rocket league is going to be free? not complete beginner moves and flips but what should you do when you already learned that. Also i loved this one, 100 2's games or 3's will be really fun seeing.

You littarely can’t coach a bronze. The only thing bronzes need to do is to practice mechanics, probably would be better with gold-champ

You’re the only player I’ve seen who’s play style looks like mine… but you’re much better since I’m Diamond 2. I do wonder how you get such clean hits off of bouncedribbles though. My joystick movement looks a bit clumsy, but I use those often as well.

It's funny how in the background thano is like scoring so many goals. And I just came from a vid with thano vs osm in the background. Osm was absolutely destroying him, jeez this is the difference from top 100 and just a gc

I’ve been playing all modes at random now for a week, and idky but the game always throws me into 1’s...so I discovered the “make less mistakes” strategy after about 10 straight losses in s2d2...I’m now g2d4 and rising. Like, I haven’t lost a 1v1 game in a good long while. Think I’m close to a 10 game win streak. But yeah this strategy works reallly well.

Petra Vasilia just remember that points don’t matter in games. What I think, is that you’re not adapting to your teammates and your play style only works with your friends. Try to see what your teammates are doing and not only focus on what you’ve been doing
