I honestly think True Lies is one of Arnies best performances. The lines are great but he also has fantastic comedic timing and delivery, it’s a genuinely hilarious movie with great action and set pieces and just well done all around. It’s one of my favourite movies of all time let alone favourite arnie films

@@flophouseplaysYou ever played the dungeon building rpg on Snes, called Chaos Seed? I don't see a whole lot of people talk about it, but it has some pretty unique features and reminds me of Secret of Mana / Legend of Mana in its visual delivery and the fighting(minus rotating menus), but not its other gameplay elements. I'm about 20-some hours in, and I definitely feel like we missed out. I don't know if it would have sold well in the US, and the menu system to use magic might turn people off, but it's def. unique.

Power Rangers nerd here: Lipsyncher and Silver Horns are basically monsters of the day who were in one episode each. They did appear in Power Rangers, and came from Dairanger (the Sentai series after Zyuranger), which is where the Thunder Megazord and Mega Tigerzord came from.

@@phoenixlich Yeah, and it's a pity because this game has all the ingredients to make at least a badass trilogy. But it's like Matt said, I definitely DON'T want a Blackthorne sequel/remake/reboot coming from the Blizzard Entertainment of the last 15 years lol.
3 ай бұрын
Yeah I think Matt needs to re-examine the 32X version, I think it's better than the SNES version. Like you said it has an extra level, plus the blood that was censored from the SNES version.
@inceptional
@inceptional 3 ай бұрын
Watching and listening to both side by side, I actually think the SNES version looks nicer pretty much across the board. Not on some irrelevant technical level, but an actual artistic level and in many of the little details, like the lovely pixel art characters vs the kinda ugly pre-rendered versions with moobs, the smoothly animating waterfalls vs the ones apparently flowing at six frame per second or something, the shimmering gems in the background rocks vs no shimmering, the extra parallax and additional animation and effects in some bits of the intro, the proper explosion sprite and screen flash when you blow up doors, the animating flames vs static skulls on sticks, the HUD that can be brought up and hidden away at will rather than always being there on the right side of the screen, etc. And it even sounds better too. The 32X version is quite scratchy and harsh on the ears., and those loud crunchy footsteps in the 32X version get annoying too. Also, I'm inclined to think the controls will be better mapped to the SNES' default controller as well. I have a faint recollection I've already checked and that is the case. I don't think an extra level would compensate for that for me personally. And there's actually a patch to turn the blood red in the SNES version if it's really that important. I never even remotely noticed it until someone like you specifically pointed it out literally decades after the fact. So, as far as I'm concerned, I think he's good with the SNES version.
@flophouseplays
@flophouseplays 3 ай бұрын
So I went back and looked at videos, while I recognize it's cool there's an added level and blood, those are two improvements, versus the entire game still looking quite ugly at all times, compared to the amazing pixel art of the original. Everyone can enjoy the version they want, but the rendered look ain't for me.

Aquaman comics had everything underwater. But they would have rooms not full of water for visitors from the surface. I love the Power Rangers: Fighting Edition. I just wish you could use all the available Megazords for story mode. Ninja Megazord was my favorite. 1:06:17 these are from the earlier seasons lol I just assumed fighting the other Megazords was a training session. 1995 was still Mighty Morphin Power Rangers era. The big change was Zeo in 1996. I love Battle for the Grid. Too bad they don't make new content for it anymore. Gundam Wing: Endless Duel is another good game. Pretty sure it's the same game engine as MMPR: Fighting Edition.

The Game Gear Power Rangers is pretty decent, especially for a portable fighter. Covers the first season of the show with King Sphinx, Nasty Night, Green Ranger Saga, Shell Shock, Polluticorn, and Cyclopsis. The arcade mode also obeys rules, like Putty can't fight Zords because of the size difference, but monsters have to fight everyone because they are both sizes.

I guess the idea of you fighting the other Zords is that you’re just training against each other, hence the Zordon stage for every one of those fights. Ivan Ooze seems like his personality was based on W.C. Fields, the guy who may know of based on the line “Go away kid, you’re bothering me.” A line that had been parodied a decent amount over the years, I think the rooster, Foghorn Leghorn, from Looney Tunes was based on him too and also said that line as well. So that’s probably why he seems so goofy to you, he’s basically an old cartoon character.

There's a David Brevik GDC video about the making of Diablo where he tells the story of how Blizzard didn't know there was another studio working on the MD/Genesis version of Justice League and only found out at an event, when they've met the team working on that in person. That's how they met each other and this eventually led to Blizzard funding Diablo, buying the studio and changing it to Blizzard North.

That store is one we frequented and both King of the Monsters were very regular rentals. Very likely that the cart is one I played on a ton as a kid. @flophouseplays The main problems were A) the controls are ass, B) the items are baffling/useless, C) the stages are mostly pretty dull and uninspired (there's literally just a lifted and watered-down Mario Circuit & Koopa Beach from SNES Mario Kart), and D) the AI is infuriating. I own a copy on SNES, and I've streamed it twice now on my Twitch, and admittedly had a SLIGHTLY better time the 2nd time, but not by much. I'm a lifetime PR aficionado (even getting to play Green Ranger in a commercial and voice Tommy & Billy in the Unworthy fanfilms), and Bandai gave 'em some fun SNES titles (Fighting Edition is dope as f***, and the music in all 3 MMPR games is CRIMINALLY underrated), but unfortunately, Zeo Battle Racers is almost as embarrassing as SNES MMPR 1's wildly racist depiction of Zack. ... but hell, maybe you'll legit love it. Renting was my favorite thing to spend money on. It quickly replaced action figures. Sometimes, when I was really into a game, like LttP, I'd have this wave of euphoria wash over me when I realized that I owned it and never had to return it.

My cousins and I played Biker Mice all the time when we were kids. I always played as Vinnie. I still have a Vinnie action figure from back then

Why does Rocky Rodent look like he took all of the drugs? I know it was probably because of Ren & Stimpy but did they really need to give him those bloodshot eyes.

I'm still waiting for Blackthorne's inclusion in Overwatch. Not that I play Overwatch. But the dude can't be beat, backwards shotgun blast will forever be op. (Also, Power Rangers the fighting edition's ost is a 10/10)

Blackthorne is cool. Besides that game, Blizzard also made The Lost Vikings 1 & 2 and Rock 'n' Roll Racing. The rest is history, with all of the Diablos, Worlds of Warcrafts, Starcrafts... Back when the company used to be awesome.

The music in X-Kaliber 2097 is literally "Extasy extano" by Chimo Bayo...so i hope he did the music otherwise they ripped him off.

Power Rangers Nerd Round 1 (GDI Matt stop asking open ended questions about my obsessions) SIlver Horns was in MMPR, he was used in The Power Transfer Part II the episode where Jason, Zack and Trini were replaced He's not very memorable because of the context of that episode being a much bigger deal, he was basically only there for a mecha fight. Also he couldn't have been in Zyuranger because its a Dairanger monster.

I have NO KNOWLEDGE of Blackthrone from back in the day; I don't even remember reading about it in a magazine ad or even a review 🤔 I mean I knew of Prince of Persia, Flashpoint, even Out of this World, but nothing on Blackthrone...

Wait, is Give 'n Go a home take on Run 'n Gun? That came out in 1993 and does the same viewpoint.
