It's the original afk arena in my opinion. Not really game play unless you play the switch Game then it's a bullet hell, I like the dorm system in it. Fun game but I feel it's age definitely shows. Graphics are charm are top notch but the gameplay is what I mean by aged. Arknights is fun but you need to advance the story a bit an get into the big meat in order to enjoy the challenge it has. I'm hyped for the new arknights game even more now though.

The "Rhodes" in Rhodes Island actually a reference to the Island of Rhodes and not the state of Rhode Island. The Island of Rhodes was the headquarters of the Knights Hospitallars, which is referencing by the fact that Rhodes Island in the game is a pharmaceutical company that has a significant paramilitary branch. There's also references to a lot of real world cultures, religions, etc. "Ark"nights is a play on Noah's Arc, since its basically a landship/safe haven filled with all the world's animal people. There's also cyberpunk Poland, a China expy, Russia under constant invasion by literal demons from the north, Spain constantly being invaded from the sea by Cthulhu monsters, etc. etc. (This part is just copy pasted from another reply) It's a good time to join. A lot of QoA has been added over the years, though the tutorial chapters and first few dozen account levels can be tedious. Even then, they go by pretty fast and each level completely refills your sanity (the "endurance" mechanic that determines how many stages you can play in a day). The main story finished its first part years ago and now we're into another saga, plus we have dozens of side stories, so you'll have novels upon novels of good story to read. Obviously some are better than others, and the visual novel presentation can turn some people off, but most people generally agree it's enjoyable. All events and stages are designed to be beaten with 4 star characters, which are obviously significantly cheaper to upgrade than 5 and 6 stars plus the gacha is very generous with them. It's also been described as "better" in terms of rates for top teir operators compared to other gachas (though I've never played any others, so take that as a second hand account), even if getting the one specific 6 star you want can be tedious, especially off banner. We have new events essentially every 2-3 weeks and simply playing through those can rack up a lot of materials from the event store. There are multiple permanent game modes that don't take up sanity, like a rogue like mode, a deck building mode, and a long form exploration mode. All of which can get you a lot of resources and again cost no sanity. That said, they aren't really playable until you've built up at least a few of your operators. Right now there's a temporary game mode called "Contingency Contract" that is a seasonal event, also takes up no sanity, and also earns you a lot of resources. That said, it's basically endgame content since the challenge is that you can add difficulty multipliers to a stage to earn more rewards. Also, resource farming is very easy. The first time you beat a stage with 3 stars and no support operator from another player, it unlocks auto play so you can farm while working on other things. So yea, Tl;Dr: If you like tower defense gameplay, lots of different stories, a large roster of characters that lean more heavily towards "rule of cool" instead "rule of sexy," then give it a try

A year ago I have done a test to check the rates for Arknights vs genshin gacha Arknights gave me 6 stars ~40ish pulls average, while genshin gave me a 5 star every ~70ish pulls (I have made 2 accounts in each and grinded for 100 pulls) it is in fact, the most generous and fun gacha game I have seen.

I like that in arknights allot of the charicters get alternate versions where they have grown up a bit. They have more combat+life experiance and have new skills. Feels like the charicters have grown over the course of the story.

Sure, 6* characters do big dmg, but they are also expensive and very niche. Just starting out, you arent going to have the million lmd required to get full use out of their kit, but you can easily clear levels with the free units given.

I play HSR, ZZZ, and Sword of Convallaria and yeah, pulls in this feel substantially better than in those game. While Hoyo games do a 0.6% drop rate for 5* (and pity starting at 75 pulls), AK is a 2% drop rate on their (equivalent rarity) 6* operators, along with pity starting at 50 pulls for their banners. You also have the Recruitment system where the game effectively just gives you 4-6 free pulls every day. The drop rates aren't the same as the banners (but the 6* drop rate from this is still 0.7%, which is higher than regular pulls in Hoyo games). Imagine if HSR gave you 5 free Star Rail Tickets every day. In three months I've gotten four 6*s just off these recruitment pulls. There also are rotating 6*'s available in the shop using the currency you get for pulling duplicates you don't need (including from the free Recruitment pulls), and they are priced cheap enough that it's practical to buy them. In three months I've gotten enough to buy two, and that's just off of only buying the $5 monthly pass and using the pulls the game gives you. I think one of the biggest differences is that content in the game is designed to be able to be cleared with 4* operators. The game can be extremely hard, but the wall is almost always a skill issue rather than a roster issue. The Potential system for powering up through duplicates for most characters winds up that at base a character is maybe 5-10% weaker than a fully maxed out version, and not like you're playing with just half the character because you aren't whaling. There also isn't a system of Light Cones or W-Engines where you technically need to pull multiple banners if you really want to make a character great. There isn't an RNG equipment system where you have to endlessly farm for substats. in AK once you have a character, you just level them up and that's all you need, and they work perfectly fine at base.

The characters just basically 'choose' a codename. But every character has a real name too. (Sometimes they choose their own name) Ash is good but not exactly 'meta' Jessica is great, her alter is amazing btw (Jessica the Liberated) Texas is an ex mafia wolf and those are her swords. Having an aoe for that 9th stage wouldve helped. (Gitano works) Putting exp into amiya is great tbh shes both needed later and very good early. Besides all those tips if you have anymore questions im more then willing to answer but I try not to backseat, the game is very f2p friendly so level who you like in the end. Just make sure you have a decently diverse roster for different situations. Id love to watch you play more since your enjoying it even if its the easier stages. (Some get stuck around chapter 2 boss)

Glad to see you're enjoying your time wit the game, you're in for quite the ride. So let me give a few tips for a new player though from what you said First: Leveling up Amiya (bunny girl in the big jacket) is not only a great idea but also required. Shes the main character of the story aside from yourself and an incredibly strong unit, with some levels being locked off if shes not leveled enough. Second: When you were looking though the support units you were only seeing one class of character, Vanguards, which are good for getting more deployment points. Click the little icons on the left in the support menu and you can see a lot of other supports, enjoying the characters and outfits is one of the best parts of the game sometimes. Third: I fully get the urge to skip story and/or tutorials, especially since at first things seem really simple, but I would advise against that since things can get really complex really quickly. You're only playing the early tutorial levels now, but every event and most later story chapters all have completely unique gimmicks and mechanics that you can't easily intuit. I'm not even kidding one of the literally required you to build and modify a dune buggy that you could unleash onto the field and control via placeable arrow markers. The story itself too is rather deep and complex, very easy to get lost in without paying attention. Fourth: One thing about Arknights I appreciate above most other gachas is that events are almost never gone forever, All of the event stories are usually important and playing back into the bigger world or plot, like the eldritch horrors of Iberia or cognito hazards of Sami. So if you do choose to stick with the game you have access not only to the main story, but most every single event story, and side story, in the game. Not to mention a built in roguelite mode, and survival base building mode, both of which ALSO have story that plays into things. When I say this game is massive it is not an overstatement Fifth: So about rarity, you are not exactly wrong that in most cases the higher rarity units are better than the lower ones. However something too note isthat the lower level ones are much MUCH cheaper to build and max out. One and two stars cant even be promoted for example, compared to 3 stars that can be promoted once, and 4-6 stars get two promotions. But many of the lower rarity units actually have unique abilities that you can leverage. For example if you level up Durin some, she gets a 50% dodge chance against any form of magic attack. No other character can do this, making her valuable in certain situations. On the surface Arknights is a tower defense game, but in practice its a strategy game built around what resources you have and how you use them. The game is fully designed that most of it can be beaten with low rarity units. All in all, I love this game, world, and story. I dunno if you'll actually read all this, but if you do I hope that you can come to appreciate this game as well. As well as its music. I do seriously recommend looking up some of the Arknights music and animations for reactions, its quite worth it. A good starting point would be the 2024 commemoration PV, it is an absolute amazing piece of art.

11:09 In this game, it is better to balance out a squad and a few other ops. Slowly build 2-3 ops of each class, with bias towards 3/4 star operators. You can build any 6 star operator (or other rating) if you particularly like them. However, it isn't a hard rule.The game is very free to whatever you want. Someone is even beating the entire game without leveling up any operators, and another is doing it with only 3 stars (and Doberman for her talent). People beat the game with a single class, or a single faction, or with the least number of operators per stage. Even if you don't want to play the game further, there is years of cool content to see!

And the little ressource you invest on the 3 stars is not lost as they are realy usefull in a mid/late-game gamemode.

nah dude sometime 2-3 star character in arknight is still used in high tier stage,even thaat rock lizard head stilll must be used because his pasif skill, that can dodge 1 time any atk,even dodge deadliest high dmg atk from a boss(yeah he used as meatshield).This game is not about the rarity of the character but the player itself.Low rarity character is more realiable because its cheap to deploy/faster to deploy(higher rarity char will have higher deployment point/take longer time to deploy) but higher rarity char are always have a higher stats.

Yes, play more. The Gitano you already have covers both Lava and 12F's role. Build from a solid 4 star lineup. The tutorials become more important for understanding mechanics, you will fail them (nearly everyone fails TR14 or TR15). Roll the beginner Banner til you get 1 6 star. Good Luck.

Play more. Arknights is perhaps one of the most fun gachas out there. Every few weeks an event would come out featuring unique mechanics that make them feel like solving puzzles. I would recommend playing at least until Chapter 3 because You’ll unlock new game modes such as: -A rogue like game mode -A city builder -A card game esq tower defense game mode.

Joke aside, I think there is not much game that can do that with this game being really balanced in many ways you can nearly upgrade anyone you like and still play the game just fine. 3 star clear the first stage, I dare you. Spend some time in the operator window and try to make sense of it, I think that's the best way to get a grasp of the gameplay, but diving balls first into eldritch space rock cancer zombie swarm is fine too Raising Amiya is required, main story progression forces you to promote her, but the better investment early on are the 3* and 4*, pay attention to their class AND sub-class, very important, you'll understand why the game recommended you to use 12F, and why I recommend peeping the operator's very private information In general new players is recommended to raise cheaper operators, both in promotion cost, and deployment cost to get through early chapters As for higher rarity ops, just follow what makes your DNA guppies quiver

Well to be honest just enjoy the game. It's quite challening down the road. My Recommendation is: maybe infest in your 3 star characters early. Yes higher Star characters are generally stronger but also cost way more to upgrade. So lower Star Characters are cheaper to upgrade so i recommend getting a good base line with your 3 Stars. Otherwise it is basicly try out and succeed in this game. Its not easy later down the road.

you have to level Amiya to Elite 2 for the later story. She´s good for beginning. Level the 2 stars like Yato and Noir corne they´re good low cost operators and get a aoe caster up. Lava is good and the 4 star you have is also very good I have her max level aswell

I plan on making a new player guide for this game, because EVERY new player I see makes the same mistakes, and its kinda funny, but also kinda tragic, and obviously a lot of it is the "EN Cant read" memes where players want to skip the tutorials, and enemy stats, and operator kits and go straight to deploying units, and killing stuff, and I get it. There is a LOT of hidden depth to the game though, and I want to kind of make a set of primers so anyone can avoid the most common missteps, and even know how to look at operators themselves and not rely on tier lists and generic advice to progress. A lot of new players fuck up deployment order, maximizing DPS by using overlapping fields of fire, and do not understand what to prioritize leveling wise because of how physical and arts damage differs scaling wise, and what actually gives you the most bang for your buck when you don't have full E2 6* squads with masteries, modules, ect and you actually have a real decision to make with who to E2, or what skill to mastery.

@@ClayChoShow I’ve only been playing that one for a few days, but as far as I can tell it’s got some good waifus. As far as actual gameplay it’s a little meh. The characters attack and use their skills on their own. Your job is to use special artifacts to heal the team or hurt the enemy whenever they’re available. If you do play this game remember which server you’re on, because if you switch to a different one you start a new game.

Word of advice. The Rainbow Six Siege Collab had two banners, a new operator and a rerun of the last collab. The current Rainbow Six Siege banner is the rerun from 3 years ago. So Ashe is not in the meta anymore and I highly recommend to save your pulls, unless your really want her. There will be a 5th anniversary event somewhere around November. I HIGHLY recommend you save your resources for that event. The two new 6 stars are ridiculously broken. I hope you continue to enjoy the game.

Levelling characters…well that’s a problematic thing, because Arknights is mostly a horizontal investment game (i.e. levelling only one unit won’t do a thing…unless it’s certain blue woman), as result - start of the game might be way too slow. 3-star characters are good investment for the start, especially considering, that they have lower level cap. As for donk…Amiya she is good when you don’t have any hard hitting units. Additional bonus, at later investments, she can do true damage.

It’s actually good to level low star characters too, you can beat most levels in the game with just 3 stars if you have like 150 iq lmfao, or just watch a guide, and they great for leaning the basics at the beginning, hope you have fun lol, I love this game

Ash is not meta anymore since she has been in the game like 2 years already this is the 2nd collab with rainbow and also there was a monster hunter collab and a new one coming with the dungeon foodie anime (on cn its already ended but global needs like 4 months to get it still) also you don't need meta you can use wichever units you want you just need either stratefy, timing or luck

Its a good time yeah, the anniversary is coming up with an amazing limited unit so thats worth grabbing. But even beyond that its almost always a good time since Arknights lets you play not only its main story but most all of its old events, side stories, and side modes at anytime. Everything in this world in connected, so unlike most gacha where you can miss events, Arknights makes sure you always have access to the story and stages.

Love to see new players try the game out! The game does get harder as you get to later stages. Leveling the 3 stars are pretty easy so making use of them is pretty good for early on. Amiya is a great pick because she's got the MC buff as I like to put it haha. Hope to see you try the game out more!

One of the only thing i hated in arknight is that the game has no retry button for stages.....in a strategy game. So the only way to do over a stage is to quit out the stage and start it over (plus you dont get refunded 100% of the stamina only 99%) and you will be doing over stages. And before anyone mention practice permits then fuck no, why would i want to do the stage twice.

100% stick with the game, definitely invest in 3 stars and lower to get you through the early game easier since they require less to invest into.
