I Played Batman: Arkham Shadow (Exclusive Gameplay & Demo Impressions)

I got to personally visit Meta's office and play Batman: Arkham Shadow. This video contains honest thoughts and opinions on my experience with the game, as well as exclusive gameplay provided by Meta and game studio Camouflaj.

I bought my fiance a metaquest 3 back in February because she wanted to get into VR gaming. Originally we were going to go with a 2 but I said screw it go with the 3 so that way we don't have to upgrade anytime soon. I have informed her I will be borrowing the metaquest 3.

@@Brungus87104 In my opinion it is. In the end I did enjoy Arkham Knight, but it was nowhere near as fun as the other entries, so I wouldn't give it an 8/10 or anything higher. And as much as I hated the entire plot and story of the game, the combat and predator sections were fun enough to give it a higher rating than 6/10. For context, I'd give Asylum 9/10, City 10/10 and Origins 7.5/10. Knight may get the lowest rating from me, but it's also the most unique entry thus far while origins mostly felt like a repeat of City only expanding on the boss fights and Bruce/Alfred relationship.

Why would it thrill you for optional content that some of us love, that you didn't have to do at all, to not be included? Nobody forced you to search to Riddler trophies. That's like if somebody who didn't like challenge maps said they were "thrilled" by challenge maps not being included (Arkham Shadow is confirmed to have them, but I'm speaking hypothetically), despite the fact it's 100% optional content that other people get a lot from.

This game was never an option for traditional gameplay. It only happened because these developers presented it to Meta as fans themselves, who owns this particular VR studio. You need to understand how incredible AAA VR is. This, Alien Rogue Incursion, Metro, Behemoth...all VR BANGERS before the end of the year. Jump in. You can thank these VR devs that a new Batman exists at all. These guys even hired an old Arkham Asylum dev.

The added immersion is more important. In terms of visuals, the fact that they were able to pull off real-time lighting on standalone hardware at 4k resolution is incredible, though. You can say graphics won't be good but once you put it on your head it can be a different story. It's going to be super clean. How do I know? Played VR gaming for 8 years and I hear the same thing over and over again. The people that haven't experienced AAA VR don't get it until they put it on their head and backtrack, just like a lot of these Batman content creators that got flown out to try it. The only real complaint that I have is how loud the prompts are and the devs have already been responding to that and looking at ways to make it more subtle.

Your loss. The added immersion will more than likely make this the most fun in an Arkham game. AAA VR titles are incredible. The last three Resident Evil games that I've played, I played in VR and I'll never go back to traditional Resident Evil.

Imagine replacing batman with catwoman and missing out on watching catwoman perform that move where she fakes a kiss then bodyslams with a shoulder throw.....for a boring pair of teleporting hands. That is what you are hyping up here. Just so you can all blow smoke about feeling like batman. Please go play the 3rd person games again so you can realize what this VR game is missing out on. Especially pay attention to all the varied movesets involved with parrying multiple enemies. All of that.....GONE. so you can telepunch. What a joke. 3rd person batman in VR..make it so you can see the true potential of this HMD instead of funneling it into first person gimmicks Imo taking away the 3rd person perspective took away at least half of the games entertainment value if not more.
