I Played BOX KAZUYA for 7 Days and Entered a Tournament!

I gave myself 7 days to not only pick up a whole new controller, but also learn a new character (Kazuya) at the same time! Will I be able to win a tournament after only 7 days with my new controller and character?

it's no more cheating than notched GameCube controllers. it provides a slight advantage, but only for the sake of convenience and ease on the hands. there's still a ton of player skill involved, and the advantage is only slight. so no not cheating

i found this from searching up kazuya box gameplay to see if i wanted a box controller and i clicked on this video with extremely low expectations. i don't usually like to watch gaming commentary videos (that goes for any game), but i can tell how much effort this was put into. smashtubers always have over-the-top reactions to every little thing like a spike kill or beating someone that teabagged on elite, so that not being here is a big thing that i like about this video. i don't understand how you only have 2k subscribers. definitely keep grinding fs

16:42 you might have been able to make it back. If you use kazuyas neutral B he stalls in the air and has a tiny bit of momentum in the direction you were going. After the neutral B you can airdodge Also great video man!

Fun Fact: Hit Box's Smashbox is often regarded as more overpowered than the B0XX due to the amount of customizability you can do to it, including specific control stick values for Melee. If it wasn't for its general unpopularity in that community, it'd probably be outright banned -- if not, heavily nerfed within the confines of tournament rulesets. Literally the only reason its not as heavily talked about in Ultimate is cuz the game isn't as technically stupid as Melee is, so its practically all fair game.

Nerves only really affected my combo game I think, it was worse than it would usually be cus I would second guess my combo routes during tournament matches, but after making it all the way to grands I was pretty confident I could win the whole thing

@@whoophee it's just holding forward for 1 to 2 frames and hitting the down cstick button the letting go of forward, and on box you can do the input version much faster then a regular controller can

If you buffer it after another option you won't drop through the platform, and usually if you do it on a platform it'll be to combo into it from another move so it works out nicely

My controller is just a frame 1 board with homemade buttons and shell, so you'll either have to wait for frame 1 to be back in stock or see if you can find a frame 1 board

My boxx has a frame 1 board, so I'm guessing the modifiers are slightly different and you'd have to change the values

can you explain the EWGF thing you did a little more?

Basicly the modifier changes the angle I'm holding the "stick" to be slightly lower. So when I'm holding down forward and press the modifier the "stick" position goes: Down+Forward -> Down+Forward but slightly more down -> Down+Forward. When checking for the input the game first checks if I'm holding forward and during the first Down+Forward I'm holding forward. Then it checks to see if I've moved the "stick" and if I'm holding down. So for the second Down+Forward that is slightly more down I've moved the "stick" and I'm also holding down. Then when I let go of the modifier the "stick" goes back to Down+Forward and the game checks if I'm holding Down+Forward which I am. Then I just need to time the A press when letting go off the modifier to get the correct timing for EWGF! Hope this wasn't too confusing!

The controller is legit, it's basicly just s homemade frame 1 with the default settings so if you can get your hands on a frame 1 controller you're good to go
