So many nostalgic demos. Brings back a lot of memories. Can't the numerous times I played the Sonic 1, Sonic 2 and Sonic & Knuckles demos before playing the actual game of them. They were so fun

God the generations demo is so nostalgic for me! I remember playing this demo nonstop in anticipation for christmas of that year where I got the full game and loved every second of it! Getting all the S ranks, doing all the missions, collecting all the red rings struggling against the final boss (i did beat it), unlocking super sonic so many memories for this game

The score bug in the 06 demo is most likely due to there not being a cap for the score chain, so it eventually overflows to -2112941584, and the game converts that to a positive number, but it only stores 8 digits, so it just safely rounds it down as to not fuck other things up.

I grew up on playing some of these demos on the 360. The browsing experience was something else and I’d spend hours on the marketplace just to see all the cool games. Sad to see it go now, but at least it made some memories

From what I recall, the 06 demo was based off the E3 build, or one very similar to it. Microsoft was actually told to take the demo sent by Sonic Team sent and polish it up, something that was planned for the final release as well, but deadlines prevented them from doing so. Also, the reason it's so unpolished is because the game was only around 50% complete at the time, only ever really being 80-90% complete in the final release.

The “World Adventure” demo is super nostalgic for me, as I always was the Nintendo kid, but my neighbor had a Xbox 360 and good wifi. I always wanted to try Unleashed, and one day I was screwing around and he just downloaded the demo. It took me maybe 8 years before I got a console that could play Unleashed LOL

The Sega Vintage Collection was imo at least on console was the definitive way to play S3&K lol. You can save the game at anytime. You can play the full game, you can adjust the screen size, and it has the original music.

Man when I was a kid I downloaded sonic the fighters demo, sonic 3 demo, sonic cd, sonic 2 demo, and I played the absolute SHIT out of the adventure 1 demo. This was like 14 yrs ago.. I ended up convincing my dad to buy adventure 1, cd, and sonic 3. I was playing on that Xbox so much my brother deleted my profile( it was his Xbox and he was salty he couldn't play nba 2k10 whenever I was playing lol)

The Xbox 360 is also my favorite console of all time, and I will never forget the memories I had with it. I once made the mistake and gived away my console, and I regreted it few years later. But at the good end, I got my hands back to my original console and it's now in a save place 😅 It's sad that the marketplace got shut down, but at least all the games (especially Sonic) are still playable to this day!

41:55 that’s actually not true, the Sega vintage collection demos only allow you to play through the first zones of each game. The trial would end after green hill, emerald hill, angel island, mushroom hill etc.
