Fun Fact: A Couple Updates Ago, USB Loader GX Introduced SD Card Support, Meaning That You Can Put Your Wii Backups On Your SD Card The Same Way You would on your hard drive, as well as rip them in the same fashion It would also make your Wii easier to carry around without carrying a hard drive!

I remember learning about wii modding when I was around 10 or 11. I saw those "MY WII MENU" videos on youtube, and they all had the homebrew channel on it. I was like "Woah... a secret channel not on the wii shop channel??? :O" and I explained to my mom that I needed an SD card so I could unlock the """secret channel""" on my wii. I didn't even realize it was modding until a year or two later, though it is kind of funny I was playing GBA games on my Wii for a whole year before connecting the pieces that maaaybe what I was doing wasn't Nintendo approved :p

I modded my Wii back in 2012, I was 13 years old and discovered Mario Kart Wii mods on KZbin. It was the wild west back then, you had 240p KZbin tutorials and a random Google site. The Wii was my introduction to homebrew and mods, and now I have so many modded consoles that I spend far too much on lol. Back in 2012, I played CTWW on CTGP with the official Nintendo servers, and none of the files back then were protected so you could boot into a Nintendo room and choose custom tracks, then desync everyone. It was so fun lol.

@@f5203 I uploaded my MK Wii friend code from the Nintendo WFC to Wiimmfi, and they discontinued that a bit later due to cheaters. I still use my original MK Wii save from like 2008 on Wiimmfi these days.

I found a Wii the other day at my local thrift store for dirt cheap. It replaces my old Wii, which my old one after it was in a friends shed in storage had exposure to water when their shed roof was leaking after rain. So I’m sure it had water damage. The Wii I picked up from the thrift store works great and so want to learn how to mod it

Wilbrand and Letterbomb were created around the same time. Letterbomb only supports Wiis on system menu 4.3, but Wilbrand supports system menu versions all the way back to at least 3.3 if I recall correctly. There's nothing wrong with using letterbomb these days, but Wilbrand is better if you for whatever reason don't want to use the latest system menu. Also, the reason Letterbomb came first; It was a long long time before Wilbrand was actually ready for proper use, back when Letterbomb was the shit, Wilbrand was more of a proof-of-concept exploit

I modded a Wii U's Wii nand, but then i decided to get a Wii (also at a flea market) for $25! What a steal! The video output for it was broken, so it wouldn't appear on my TV, and when I got a HDMI converter for it, the colors for it were broken and would lose connection whenever the output would drastically change.

*hears nintendont being called a emulator* half right, it emulates the disc drive and runs GameCube in Wii mode rather then GC mode, think about DSi using GBA Runner, it runs GBA games in DSi mode, the reason why these dont crash is because the hardware is almost identical to the original console still when playing them, just "overclocked" a bit in a sense (just thought id share some funny info on how that works, just a funny comment for the funnys)
