I would like to get big enough in a band to where we can tour, but after watching some POV videos from other bands and artists it seems like an extremely tiring non-stop work career to get into. Plus, I'm not quite sure how I feel about millions of people knowing all the basic things about me. Hate when random people approach me in public and want to have a conversation. I'm not a big conversationalist

I didn't know you're 5 years sober! What a great feat! I'm about 140 days in. I like how it all settles in and you discover that you actually didn't need all of that stuff. Great video, love the first person perspective. You're so humble 😊

Even in town, venue to venue is tiring. It's basically an 8 hour shift after you add in load from home, set up, soundcheck, play time, tear down, load up and unload at home again. You start at 7 and end around 3....then you can't get to sleep until 4. lol. Fun stuff.

I can relate. I was called a "snob" or "antisocial" for not partying after gigs. Kinda surprising, because I thought I was there to play guitar and entertain. Then I had to listen to shmucks complain that they haven't got any money left while my pockets are full. And that too caused resentment...like I was somehow making more.

I bought a cheap Ibanez Gio for playing outside this summer. It was only $200 but actually plays pretty decently, but now I feel bad about using it to practice outside... What do you guys think? IS that an OK thing to do to a $200 Gio? What is the max temperature and humidity range that such an instrument deserves to be tortured with?
@221b-l3t6 ай бұрын
It's poly finish so it shouldn't crack. Try not to get the wood soaked that could warp it, maybe consider finishing the fretboard if you are going to be in the rain a lot and making the electronics cavity more water proof, some rubber around the pickguard should do it. Don't leave it out in the direct sun for too long. And dry it after it gets wet. Should be fine.

At first, my peers invited me to join in the drinking parties, but after a while they got used to the fact that I don’t drink. On the contrary, they began to respect me and even consider me a mascot of the company (because the one sober person periodically helps out a whole company of drunks :) ).
