You know the worst part of that is in the end the game was profitable and Square fucked up the pre release period and used this as justification to put a sequel on hiatus. Luckily Deus Ex was in the Nvidia leaks so we might get a follow-up in the future.

With big games, I almost always am not real excited after only an hour. It takes a few hours to level up a bit and get used to the mechanics before I can really get into it. If it is a game that I immediately like, it is usually something that is pretty simple like a 2D platformer where you know what it will be like right away.

FF Origins had a terrible trailer and it's hard to tell what the full game will be like. Their games made by their western divisions can be pretty mediocre sure, not their eastern stuff though.

This feels like torture, i'm listening to a soundtrack of a game series i have a tremendous passion for (Deus Ex) to viewing a game i couldn't care less about, both products of the same devs, but one is is the one they wanted to make and the other one the one they have to produce in order to survive. I find the Disney's Marvel franchises to be extremely vacuous experiences, there's nothing memorable or long lasting about them, Shang-Chi for example looks like the Macdonalds version of a martial arts movie. It's sad that Eidos Montreal aren't allowed to make the amazing games they should be producing, you get the feeling as if they were being held hostage and forced to produce junk, the same uncomfortable situation Bioware is in currently.

I don’t know I just saw Shang chi the other day and thought it was great probably one of my favourite marvel movies honestly, so I think it’s a bit harsh to call them “vacuous” experiences. Look I’m a big fan of deus ex as HR was absolutely amazing and one of the best RPG’s I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing but let’s be honest Mankind Divided was a bit of a let down. I think it’s an assumption to say they want to make deus ex but are being forced to work on marvel, let’s wait and see how the final product turns out. As for deus ex I’m pretty positive we’ll be seeing it again some day and I don’t mind waiting.

The big missed opportunity here, if you aren't going the coop multiplayer route, is not offering more then the 4 movie guardians. There are a bunch of characters who have been members of the gaurdians in the comics and it would be cool to be able to build your own custom npc team. If you want the characters to look like the movie just grab their movie skin it is free you just gotta find it in the world. If you have a problem with copy right music just put on streamer mode and you should be fine.

I'm not keen on the designs of some of the characters. I don't understand the need to give StarLord that typical douchey hairstyle that every man and his dog had a couple of years ago. Also I know Drax isn't human but his anatomy just looks like some beginner artist trying to use zbrush for the first time. It doesn't look very intentional. I think Rocket looks fantastic though.

Why is "linear" such a dirty word to gamers? Linear is good. When a game is linear you can get into the shit you actually want to be doing immediately instead of trying to traverse through a world to get from one mission to the next. There's a time and place for open-worlds and for mission structures that have multiple choice solutions but that doesn't need to be every game. Linearity isn't automatically a negative. Sometimes openness, either in map or mission structure, can actually work to a games detriment. Also I just want a really good, focused 10-15 experience sometimes. I don't want every game I buy to be a 40 hour investment or to feel like I have to replay a game several times to get everything out of it.

Visually incredible, gameplay is ok but kinda messy. But overall i just want much of a fan, it felt like i wasnt really doing much. Im so conflicted because it's one of the best LOOKING games I've ever played

Wasn't * I'm close to platinum but know I'm not going to get it because I can't sit through so many scripted scenes to get to a randomised chance of pulling off certain moves and going thrifty the whole game again looking for collectibles

I feel like there is so much on the screen. Health bars and side credits. The mini option menu right in the middle of the screen. Everything else looks good to me.
