a fog-of-war effects would be pretty cool for these events. A fog effect that limits view distance that gets stronger with height. When you're on top of your base you can only see enough to defend, but not roof camp the map. Roaming on foot would be the best view distance. Flying a heli would be dangerous. Or, after the build phase, the map is blanketed in fog and view distance is limited, and you have to roam to expand your view.
