Dude, there was no youtube when I was a kid. You had to be lucky enough to have parents who would send you to baseball camp, then you had to get lucky to have a good camp instructor! Anyway, point is, I would’ve been eating this shit up when I was into baseball! This stuff is solid gold! If you have a kid serious about pitching, get him subscribed to this channel and PAY ATTENTION! Good shit Bauer!

trevor talking about not wanting to give a new catcher too much information so he can get a take from someone with fresh eyes is such an interesting nugget. its not a ground breaking idea but its those little details that can get lost, especially when you do a craft for a long time and get set in your ways. chasing mastery or perfection
@michaelcary13824 ай бұрын
Trevor, I mostly stopped watching baseball way back at the lockout in the 90's. Every now and again I liked watching highlights and the newer rules have made the game more watchable, but your videos of the "daily grind", mixed with a smatter of local life, stadium tours and everything else really give a feel of what it's all about. The best part of your content hands down is your authenticity. You love to compete and celebrate (like sword) , but to be ok when you don't win and someone else celebrates is a great lesson. Your love of the game is obvious and the content you create makes that game better. Congratulations.

It's crazy how the old man can see what you're doing and then fix it. I never played past college ball, but when my dad would show up for that one weekend during the season, he'd watch one AB and then he'd come down the stands and say something like, "You're landing on your heel with your stride and it's throwing your head up. Bite your shirt this time, widen out, and focus on your stride as a timing mechanism. Front foot goes back in the same place you picked it up. The stride is dropping your head and then jarring it up. You aren't seeing the threads, are you?." He always knew. I'd feel like an idiot up there biting my shirt, until I'd drop a bomb on the next pitch. Every time he came to see me play, I'd go yard and he would straighten me out. The man threw me thousands of buckets of BP over the years and knew my swing better than I did.
