OMG props for actually playing the original game! The cutscene movie in the HD remix is good but experiencing all 358 days firsthand even on days when you just kill some Heartless is how it was originally intended. Plus some super memorable scenes got cut.

Lol I remember playing this for the first time and seeing "Who else will I have Ice Cream with?" and laughing into an uncontrollable sob upon realizing the deeper meaning. To Roxas, that was the very definition of friendship, so he was basically saying "Who else will be my friend?". Shit gets me every time! Kupos to you for playing the OG, Time for BBS!

Apparently in the novelization, the final mission is even worse because Roxas is constantly repeating Xion's name in his head the whole time trying to hold on to his final memories of her, until Rikku smacks his down and drags him off to be put in the computer.

I don't know if anyone has pointed it out to you yet, but a neat detail about Riku/Roxas fight is that Riku injures his wrist when if gets slashed by Roxas and in every game after Riku is always wearing a wrist brace

I grew up in an abusive household. I didnt have friends or really anyone. I was a complete zombie a husk of a human. Then one day i stumbled upon a DS case that had a charge and 1 game KH 358/2 days. and So i stole it and played it under the covers while my parents slept. This game taught be about friendship taught me to be human to be me. I will never forget the tears i fealt when i first beat this game. Roxas Axel Xion ... I will never forget them and i will never forgot what this game did for me as a child.

yeah roxas did remember her, thats why he was on the warpath to destroy kingdom hearts. but riku stopped him. roxas had so much anger for the loss of his friends and life, that he would burn the world away (destroy kingdom hearts) to get it back. love roxas story all he knew was loss and pain and he failed in this story. so sad

You should watch the videos for this game that come with 2.8?? I think it is. Jesse McCartney suddenly gets good at acting for the scene of Roxas getting mad at Axel and it's amazing. My man was going through it I guess, he really went off.

I'm so glad to see you play the OG 358/2. I absolutely love the remix movie for it and I don't judge anyone who only watches it without playing the original, it's hard for people to get a GBA or understand how to set up emulators (I personally struggle with emulators lmao), but that just makes it even more fun to see someone who goes through getting the original game to play. I remember watching over my mom's shoulder as she played on my red GBA and not really understanding the story for myself until about a year later when I played through it myself, I was a little kid and I just needed time and a replay to understand how tragic this game is.

It's tricky, the gameplay gives a more balanced experience to viewing 358/2, but the HD video set does a better job visualizing the story, since a lot of silent moments it is hard to read emotions and some emotions require more than a single mini portrait. All in all, what a powerful but sad story.

I love watching people react to this game. It's my favorite story wise. And I will continue to sing to everyone about how they miss that the talk of "Nobodies were never meant to exist" was completely replaced the moment Xion "The girl never meant to exist" finally faded away. One person doing as she should and vanishing from the minds of everyone made everyone think the existence of Nobodies was meant to never be, despite the very concept of a Nobody is the product of the heart ripped from the body, leaving behind an emotionless husk. They exist because heartless exist but Xion isn't meant to.

I played this game After playing the First One and c.o.m. on PS2 and i remember at the time that i got very emotional and crying while fighting Xion at the end,i replayed this game the other Day After Replaying all the other ones on PS4 and still to this day i still cry when i see that scene (srry if i mispelled something im italian)

WOAH!!! I can't believe you actually played the game! Most people just watch the HD cutscenes in the 1.5 + 2.4 ReMix or whatever it was called. I would personally recommend watching it anyway if you haven't (also I just started the video lol), the updated graphics/animation and full voice acting is good, and I believe the HD cutscenes for 358/2 Days and Re:Coded do have some extra scenes that weren't in the originals.
