This game ran flawlessly on an Xbox360 back in 2007/2008. Let that sink in. Shadows, decals, tens of enemies on screen at once, split screen co-op, and it ran without hitches. No same day DLC. No locked fomo features. Remember when games were released as complete products that actually worked? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Just some very basic point for the next time. - Medkits heal 80% of the target's "missing" health, meaning it's better to use them on low health. They're also very rare so should be used sparingly. On lower difficulties they're best used under 40 health to counteract the slowing, on Expert they basically should only be used when someone's in black-and-white (after getting knocked down two times the next one means death). - Pain pills heal 50 points but it's temporary, ticking down slowly (over 2.5 minutes). Taking damage will actually take the "permanent" health away first. Again, they're best used to counteract the slowing below 40 hp. You can also pass the pills to teammates with right click. - Common infected prioritize pipe bombs over Boomer bile, so pipes are a good counter when someone's been biled. - Multiple Molotovs don't increase the fire damage the infected take. - Don't shoot common infected that are on fire or are chasing a pipe bomb -- they're basically already dead. - Always move after shoving -- you made an opening, use it. - Keep an eye on where your teammates are -- especially when you're keen on running ahead. Special infected like to target survivors who are on their own -- on your own you're basically helpless. - All Special infected have their own music cues when they spawn in. They also make sound both when they spawn in (except the Hunter) and when they spot the survivors. Random hordes are also preceded by music. Keep an ear out.

Oh, I was also about to emphasize the importance of keeping an ear out for the Witch's crying, and, if her cry is heard, turning flashlight off and doubling the attention is mandatory. Every new player commits the mistake of thinking the Witch is just a regular common infected and shoots her. I did back in the day, and I know you did too! Hehe

Also speed is key, for higher difficulties you basically should dash through the levels in a tight pack. edit: forgot to give the reason The longer you take the more chance that special infected or hoards are spawned in. At the same time the resources remain the same. Otherwise man your comment nailed the list of tips I haven't seen in this comments hopefully he sees this... I doubt he was playing on any real difficulty, too few zombies, too many medkits lol no matter how much he swears in the video it's on advanced.

If you haven't planned on doing it (and apologies if you said in the video that you will, I just saw the beginning of the video and that's all for the moment) you should ABSOLUTELY play the second game. It adds so much to the game while still having the same feel as the first, if not better, and it not only has a whole different campaign but it also remasters the entirety of the first games campaign. It's an absolute blast, and I'm glad you decided to give it a go in the first place!

It was awesome watching you three play one of my favorite games. If perchance it qasnt suggested before I'd try out L4D2, it has all the campaigns of L4D1. If you also play this again I highly suggest checking out the workshop for these games as there's loads of mods that change the game can look, extra mutations, new fan made campaigns, and loads more. The modding capabilities of this game are amazing and bring an almost endless combination of fun to the table.

Also in Left 4 Dead, the reason the survivors are "the survivors" and do not become infected after being attacked is because of their blood type. I don't remember the specific blood type but those with that blood type are "carriers" of the disease but cannot be infected themselves. Or something like that, it has been awhile since I was last big into this game lol

Carriers are infected, but they're asymptomatic so they don't have any of symptoms attached to being infected. That's why known carriers were killed on sight as they're able to infect others.

As far as I know Valve made this game because Half Life 2 also had a city full of zombies and they thought it would be a cool idea to make a full game out of it. They did a good job I think considering how old the game is now. :D

for anyone wondering, left 4 dead 1 and 2 the AI can be quite janky and get you killed. though playable with solo, ai or with friends, solo is the only not recommended way to play in my opinion. also note of 1 and 2 you can just get 2 and not miss much as the story takes the backseat in these games and is more about the game play (also left 4 dead 2 should have custom maps on pc and mods and some community maps "just recently" got added to the main game.).

This game is literally my childhood. I remember I would play this with my dad when I was like, hell, 4 or 5 years old and I would be absolutely terrified, especially at the tank. Probably not the most appropriate game for a child to be playing but god is it so fun, especially playing with someone else. Peak coop game, definitely one of the best zombie shooters.

Just for reference, L4D2 is explicitly better than L4D1 simply for the fact that it also contains the entirety of L4D1 within. It also adds more special infected, a new campaign with new characters, new weapons, new consumables, etc.

The reason that guy was going at you about the music was because pretty much every special infected and horde has their own theme music that’ll play whenever they spawn in. Without it on, you usually get pinned out of no where since the musics your main queue of warning.
