​@@thezkiller03 That was actually the first thing I tried. Unfortunately it looks like Steam Link doesn't yet support Linux, at least in its VR mode. It did show up though, it was really cursed seeing "PS4" listed as a computer in my Steam Link devices 😂

Yes, it's all a matter of how optimized the device is. I wanted to see the smartphone tested again on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. It should be very playable and look good, especially if they used a VR headset with eye tracking and foveated rendering.

Shout out to you setting up ALVR. I as a Linux user am so freaking super happy it works with both Quest and Pico headsets, no more Windows. Also thumbs up for such experiments. I love silly stuff like this even if one doesn't get anywhere.

I got alvr working for a steamdeck & quest 3 a while ago. Vrchat was like 15 fps with bad bad stutters lol Basically was this process, and also needed a deactivated firewall 💀

Seeing you use ALVR on the PS4 is painful, if you are looking for better results you are better off trying to run a PCVR headset such as the HTC Vive (low res, saves processing) as it removes a lot of overhead with both ALVR, the meta software, drivers involved in running it all. With the HTC Vive SteamVR on Linux should just pick it up, and work better. (Take this with a grain of salt as ive not got a ps4 to test this on)

Interesting. You probably know you can get an AMD BC-250 which is basically a binned PS5 AMD chipset and stuck on a board with a chonky heatsink. People get Linux running on them but without GPU support - but read someone was able to get it working. Might make a pretty neat SteamVR option with full GPU acceleration, maybe?

I tried steamvr on my onexplayer 2 running 6800u apu. All I wanted was to watch movies on my psvr2 in my bedroom without having to move my gaming pc. It's too stuttery. I wonder if skybox is less of a resource hog than virtual desktop.

Resonite *IS* effectively Neos, it's the entire development team that noped away from Karel's demands. , Neos is in a broken buggy zombie like service state and is only barely more functional Past Local/Home IF you have a saved Cache from before everything occured. That Said, before it all i previously tried this in Flat screen it *DID* surprisingly push atleast 60FPS in Local when it was just itself, it crashed out of Memory when loading Anyone else.
