Tamagotchi: Osutchi to Mesutchi seems to work fine for me on HHUGboy, GBE+, VisualBoyAdvanceM and mGBA, unless there is something game-breaking later down the line that I haven't run into yet. Not working for some reason on SameBoy tho. Maybe your rom-file got corrupted somehow/was a bad dump? Just as I was thinking of writing about how Binamon is my own personal Gameboy virtual pet holy grail, you mentioned it yourself. A Gameboy virtual pet game I wish had existed, but doesn't, was if they had reused the unreleased/unfinished DOS-version of Creatures ("Creatures 0") as a basis for a GBC (or GBA) port. I think the it's simplicity, smaller-scale and art-style would be a better fit for a handheld of the time than working backwards from the more complex and pre-rendered-3D Creatures 3-via-the-PSX-port thing they tried with the eventual GBA port, and getting in on the handheld virtual pet boom sooner might have been what was needed to save the series from the limbo it has been in for over two decades. Also I just find the Creatures 0 "pet" designs really adorable and much cuter than the increasingly big-eyed and monkey-like ones they went with for the released games. ...that might be my main reason actually... Considering differences in English and Japanese grammatical nuance I'd argue "Puncher Monkey" might be a more correct literal translation in the first place. Personally I fell employing experience of both languages' usage and cultural context is what makes a good translation, as opposed to a just a basic or even bad one. There are plenty of examples of localisations that don't make good use of either. Clock Tower: the Struggle Within is the first example that comes to mind, but there are probably much better/worse examples out there.

mm, a bad dump could be, yeah! it'd be nice to have had Tamagotchi: OtM on the physical cart since it has the speaker built into the top, but you can't win 'em all~ 😅 glad you liked the shout-out to Binary Monster! the after-market on carts for the Gowin releases is wild here in the US! a Creatures based digital pet game on the GBC would be so good! there was already the Catz/Dogz games there later; they could've made it work! 😤 "Puncher Monkey" was right there, yeah! good call~ 🥊 thanks for watching and for your awesome discussion comment! ✨

If this would have been every style of digital pet games released on Gameboy not just the standard feed, take care of, and play the list alone would have been ridiculously long but playing even just a short while of them all probably would have made a nearly 1 and half hour video an extra 2 and half hours because some have adventure or action not just raise and play style game play

YES I would love to see a video on the more ""realistic"" pet Sims on the gameboy! In particular, I know horse raising/racing games aimed for adults have always been big in Japan, so I'm curious how that might influence those kinda games! (In fact, that's where the monster rancher series was originally birthed from! To the point iirc the original game's engine is a modified horse jockey game engine by the same devs!)

(I will show this to everyone I know) Aside from Digimon, I've never been really interested in the vpet topic, so this vid is super informative! I want more !!!❤❤❤❤❤ As a moderate (played SRW X crossover,but yet to see the anime) Chou Mashin Eiyuuden Wataru fan, I would play those gb games based off the familiarity with it alone. So no wonder it's mid, the kind that absolutely deletes itself from your memory as you beat it. Not to be overly harsh with it, It's just that I have an anecdote to fit with that statement: recently, I've watched the first two seasons of OG Beyblade, because my friend has a fav character in the 2002 series. Sadly, that specific season is one of the worst, mind-numming expiriences I've had with a piece of media, period. And on top of that I've had that constant deja vu watching it, which was rather concerning,up untill I've researched about merch and found out about the gba game, that I've played as a kid. That's the closest thing I've expirienced to being haunted by a ghost. p.s.I'm deeply sorry If it's hard to read, I'm texting it on mobile and IMO I was a gyaru with the fanciest cellphone and longest nails in my previous life, because for the life of me I can't adapt to touchscreen. P.p.s for my story - the fav character in question is Zeo Zagart, he's indeed, very nice, too nice for a show so bad lol 1:03:20
