One of the best suited factions for tall play is Franz, you can build up Reikland and continually make money by fighting armies attacking other EC and eventually start confederating if you want/think you’re ready.

you can gift the settlements to other dwarfs, I did that in my campaign, it hit me really hard back when I found out I had accidentally set “a grudge too far on enabled”, but I confederated three of the factions and hit back the others

I did a tall method with Gor-rok, was really fun to do. Glad to see dwarfs can now capably do it now.

Since CA allows us play tall now, i wish they could give us an option to revive defeated factions too

Agreed, the current system is way too clunky and limited in regards to which factions can be revived.

I’d argue it is still very viable to go tall. Not optimal but viable. To achieve end goals I like to create puppets on either side Barak var to the south and ungrim to the north. I abandoned the silver road to colonize mount Gunnbad as that is the single most wealthy settlement in dwarfdom. Every 20 turns you double your allready massive income (about 4000k base meaning continuously being able to pump out more and more armies. Next use these armies to conquer then gift to other legendary dwarfs. Next step profit. On turn 100 I had over 30k income on legendary with a single settlement

Yes that boost to the economy is pretty amazing. Ultimately, though, going tall is going to always run into the same problem when it comes to winning a campaign.

@@mattscott5059 you don’t double it, you add base, it doesn’t multiply with itself with gaps of 20 turns, at 20 turns more than settlements you have twice, at 60 turns more than settlements you have four times, at 140 more than settlements you get eight times, and so on

I just played a start of thorgrim and I don't understand why not finish skarsnik? He is literally the only threat in the area plus gunbad makes ton of money

why wouldn't you just take settlements and sell them to your allies. You can earn money and still finish the victory conditions.
