Jay, i have to remind you, you are way better at these games than you think. You solo'd alot of things most of us only really did in a group. If at all. Sure you may not be on the level of team darkside, but you are not an average hunter in skills.

I remember watching your “Not gonna play MH Rise” video and then following your journey. I also started with World, and when I moved on to play GU and then rise, it always felt like I was chasing that new experience I got from world. I think everyone has been chasing that same experience with each game they play. But I liked seeing your journey because it let me relive those experiences vicariously through you in a way.

I remember having a chuckle with my friend over that video and then seeing the follow up like a day after it uploaded. I opened it expecting one of those passive aggressive types of videos that apologize without meaning it. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised.

HeyJey, you deliver amazing content in your niche role. Like you said there’s creators that can guide us and mentor. There’s other that show off their skills by impressive times. Your role in the MH community is you are a Hunter for the average Hunter and that’s amazing, because we need that to. You relate to us on that level and are dedicated and committed, not to mention no one does pledges like you!

In all seriousness I am glad you got to interact with the community and other creators in the sphere, NGL Jay I have seen your name crop up quite a bit in places like Reddit asking for content creators that represent certain weapons and you are one of if not THE face of the Switch Axe. You're bigger then you think, there is a reason why the other creators reacted to your name as HeyJay! lol

I also started with World and then played all through rise and sunbreak with my friends and had a blast. Seeing your 3U and 4U journeys inspired me to try them as well on my 3ds XL and they’re great! Harder, and a bit more stiff than the new ones but great nonetheless. I can’t do what you do man, you’re a step above, don’t sell yourself short.

In addition to what others have said about focus mode, another fun thing about it is now melee weapons get a means to aim attacks directly, even while attacking. I've heard it described as the opposite of the left bumper (which swings the camera to where your hunter is facing) whereas focus mode makes your hunter pivot to where the camera is looking. It'll let us fine tune our aim much more, which I am super excited to learn.

Little reminder or correction. Focus mode allows you to see better the wounds of the monster that are open at that very moment, not the parts that are about to break. Then you can use your focus strike to the wound to deal great damage. Other than that, very cool video, i envy all of you that got to play it!

I love that you're closer to an average Hunter, HeyJay! Ultra professional 20 year veteran min-maxer opinions are NOT the only opinions/impressions that matter! Personally I like seeing more average folks enjoying the games I love because it reminds me that I don't need to be perfect either. It's also way easier to send to friends whom I'm trying to introduce to the game so they can see videos from content creators like you - there's a MASSIVE intimidation when starting something as complex as MH and being able to show my friends - "look: this guy hated it and now he's a community leader pretty much!" is such a big deal for helping new players. Team Darkside is amazing but their videos are really not at all accessible for folks just diving in. I love Rurikhan for his super in depth guides but honestly a lot of the time they're too in depth for newer players. Every great community needs content creators that caters to all skill levels. It's not to say those other creators aren't amazing (seriously - Gaijin basically taught me how to play and these days I would be LOST without Rurikhan's guides!!!) but your videos are incredibly approachable and just a really great relaxing time. What matters most is your enthusiasm and joy for the series and you've always brought that ever since deciding to give Monster Hunter an honest chance! Seeing you grow into a fan of the series has been so delightful. You absolutely deserve to be part of this community and it would not be the same without you and I'm super duper happy that you got to meet so many people at Gamescom and that you got to play the game! 💝

Absolutely awesome that you got to try out the demo. Also am glad at the amount of Lance gameplay shown due to you not recording your own hunts, heheheh... It's still crazy to me that characters have actual in-game names, even despite us having all of Rise+Sunbreak with that change. Hearing a character being named "Olivia" instead of "First-class Hunter" or something is oddly alien despite being ordinary.

This was a better format than regurgitating the same exact videos and content like Dear Gamer, Arekkz, Rurikan, the usual. You can copy and paste their videos over each other and there'd be very little difference when any ounce of new information comes out. Glad you had fun :)
@kawkawshi7755 ай бұрын
FYI Focus Mode just reveals wounds. Wounds are not an indicator of part damage, though you do get a rewards when breaking wounds. We will still get part-break rewards in addition to wound-break rewards.
@MolezHD5 ай бұрын
I think what you mentioned about it not looking as good as it does in the trailers we've been getting is just because its a demo build AND because its a ps5 build. People who've seen/played the pc demo have said it really does look next gen and much better than the ps5 demo version, you can literally see the texture resolution dropping in and out on the ps5 demo I assume just because it isn't optimised for playstation yet, seems like its going to look insane on pc though
@marcog.verbruggen6745 ай бұрын
frankly even if it looks worse than the trailers I couldn't possibly care less. It could look like a PSP game again for all i care, if the gameplay is good and the heart of the game is there it's good for me
@MolezHD5 ай бұрын
@@marcog.verbruggen674 True but also I love the immersion of worlds environments etc so better graphic fidelity is always gonna make for more immersive environments which I would prefer
@marcog.verbruggen6745 ай бұрын
@MolezHD eh to each their own, but i still disagree, I think many other factors contribute to immersion faaaar more than graphical fidelity. Ive played fotorealistic games that felt far more fake than some titles made with pixel art. In fact, depending on certain things, higher graphical fidelity is directly immersion breaking to me - that's part of the reason why "live action remakes" of anime and animated movies fail so much, they cross a boundary of suspension if disbelief. But yeah, its not like better graphical fidelity is not generally a good thing anyways, it's just absolute bottom of the priority list for me personally lol

You know what, I'm loving how the team has advertised the game by bringing people that are really in the community to try it and make content on it. Other companies would have brought a bunch of hype people that would only check it for business, and that's it. We love getting new people in the community, but we want the right people, people that are curious and want to learn

I did hear they did a change to the health bar, where if a monster is about to do a move that would stun you or do a lot of damage, it flashes some big red waves, so that might be why they changed the bar too.

My thoughts on the squiggly healthbar is really just "if it moves, I can see it faster." My brain doesn't need as long to process what my eyes are seeing when things are moving for contrast. Like, in World, if I'm looking at the healthbar, it takes me about half a second of squinting to differentiate between the parts of the healthbar to decipher where I'm at. In Rise, the healthbar's too big and I need to move my eyes along it to find the spot where it ends. In Wilds it does the work for me. But then, I have pretty bad astigmatism. Maybe the squiggling should be considered an accessibility feature, rather than the default?

@jockpackage17705 ай бұрын
Gamescom, E15, What?! the SA counter window is more generous than Sunbreak?! That was one of the most generous counter windows in that game. I'm loving what I'm seeing in Wilds, for the most part, but do these people not understand the concept of burn out? If your entire last game, from the other team but whatever, is just the single counter gimmick. Maybe you don't overuse it again and give it to almost every weapon. This is such a dumb decision. They said that they want the weapons to feel more unique and suit their individual identities, a sane person hears that and the take away is this is not Rise so weapons won't feel as samy with counters. Nope, pretty much everyone gets counters again. SOme weapons hardly get much else. The key is to give different weapons different things. My biggest worry with the counters is that they'll do the same fuck up as Rise, where they are lazy with attack design and just say "oh that guard up skill doesn't work and that means your counters don't work either but if you don't have a shield your counters magically work." World/Icebore was creative with messing with guarding but Wilds' website having the whole "has the ability to guard" looks like a dam warning label. It may as well say "this is a cursed object, don't touch it."
