One thing i would like to add that i hope Arika listens to: please add more single player content to the game. All of these new gameplay edition look really fun but they gotta make the single player more appealing. Even a simple thing like adding special artwork for arcade endings and maybe a bonus stage and unlockable classic artwork would make the game 10x better than it is right now. Also take the Kumite/Survival mode out of training mode and make it it's own mode on the main menu.

The thing is that Nishitani still has his mind stuck to the 90s arcade vibe. Thinking about it, the most and he best that he did were 90s arcade games. But the problem is not moving on from that developer mindset. No matter how much "arcade-ish" he wants the game to look, there are points that must be carefully (re)considered. Because in short, classic arcade games are made basic and small scaled... but those traits are contrary to the current market demands. The games need to have much more content. So the inevitable result of taking that path is setting yourself below other games automatically and being called "retro-esque" or something like that.

At the on set of Street fighter 6 I want to let you know your training has lasted me over 7 years. It did not only affect my fundatmental understanding of game core mechanics. but it helped me in life as well. You guys did great there. Tell gootecks he did a great thing there. I am so hyped for whatever they decide do with this. If they do make a new game, I hope they make it very stylized. And the meter recharge does look like an issue. Maybe using a charge up mechanic like in dragon ball games might be good to rebuild the meter. It can leave you vulnerable at the expense of rebuilding the meter.

As much as I’d love this to be a free/paid update to the existing game, I’d rather see this as a new game. The regular EX Layer has been already abandoned by the fandom. Steam charts puts it at 0 players (5-6 people at best on a good night). Rebranding the series with a new UI, artwork, adding a few characters from Fighting Layer, and maybe a guest character from SF would definitely revive interest in the franchise. And now being a 3D game it makes it a new experience. Having this as an update to the existing version, will just make it fade away after 2 weeks and back at 0 players on steam and an empty wasteland on ps4.

Man that is so cool that Arika let you look at this while you were in Japan! "Put your comments below; do they need to hurry up & make this update available to everybody so you can play it?" I don't need 'em to hurry up, I just want them to get this _right,_ lol. You're right man; this is one of those niche fighting franchises that deserves more love, and the best way to do that is to ensure that they launch it on multiple platforms at once - including Xbox this time, in addition to Playstation and Steam - and NOT BLOW THE LAUNCH. Like, I distinctly remember how there was NO single player content at all and, as an indie game with zero marketing, there was never any question that it would struggle to create a community - especially on PSN where you have to play for multiplayer (versus, say, Steam). They also blew it with regards to pricing models; remember how they had two versions - one with more of the gems or cards or whatever system and gold/silver variants of characters included? Either way, they were both too pricey for the level of content at launch, thus keeping the launch of FEXL muted at best. Heck, I had to learn from Max's video that you could SORT OF activate a Survival Mode if you went into Training, turned the AI on and set the lifebars to deplete, thus forcing the CPU to throw in more and more characters, but that was *it.* And you had to wait months for it to gain even an Arcade Mode, let alone new characters. I would prefer Arika just keep their heads down and work on more and more development whenever they can. But yeah, just have 'em stock up on content - even if it's recycled from FEXL* - and launch this *right* when it's *ready.* Especially since this one is adding side-stepping _back_ into the franchise ('cuz that original one in Arcades was truly 3D after all); we NEED more 3D fighting games again, and even if this is using sidestepping like JJBA All Star Battle or something vs a proper 8-way run like SoulCali and Tekken, whatever. But let them get that element right, for sure. Ideally though, I would like to see 'em swap out a lot of elements from FEXL like that fighter select screen - honestly, it seems like a placeholder here - and turn this into a proper third Fighting Layer entry in time. Even if it won't launch until 2025 or whatever, I dunno, lol. I'll be patient as long as it feels like a bigger release than just an update when it drops. PLUS, it'll give 'em a chance to hype up the launch with character trailers at events like EVO and whatnot over time. * - that's fine though; those characters and stages are great looking. Really cool to hear they're helping out on Tekken 8 in this video; they definitely have talented artists and are familiar with Tekken (they did the 3DS version) so hearing that Arika is getting respect from Namco makes me happy

I notice the air combo is taken from MVC1 PS version from where the air combo zooms in and changes the camera angle. Even though it's the updated version of that fighting game, they just change the rules of the game by adding new mechanics. Nothing else.

Ex plus alpha is the game i learn to play higher lv street fighter on, and had the best grab animations, stages(sakura n ken) still have the blood stains on my dpad and calluses on my thumb, ill always love it, and those were my 1st real combo trails, that i thought were genuinpy impossible 😂😂this was before youtube kids so no guides for help just an older fMily member of you were lucky. I think this new system needs to be tweaked a little bit. It feels like every match seems to go a similar way: fight for a little bit, blow through almost your entire bar in a single back-and-forth exchange trying to take each other out, then spend the last 30 to 40 seconds playing tag with no meter. It has potential, but it needs tweaking. Maybe you both start with three bars and it slowly fills throughout the match; filling faster with the more damage you do to your opponent or the better combos you pull off. I don't know - just spit-balling here.

I would like to see the gauges refill like the Switch version, because the only problem I had with FEXL:AD was that 3 bars for Dashes, boost jumps, focus attacks AND Super Combos was not enough. I'd just save my gauge to chain 3 super combos together but that doesn't result in the same damage you showed here

This is the second best time for Arika to do this because of the amount of fighting games were getting for us fighting game fans. The first time they did this was 2018 when we had a bunch of fighting games come out like smash bros ultimate and blaze blue cross tag battle. So I hope a lot of people try this out have fun.
